Yeah... it's maybe not as good as Fire Emblem... but anybody around here play Famicom/Advance/whatever orther War games by Intelligent Systems? I'm kinda hooked on these games right now...
So... what are your thoughts?

I noticed that in Famicom Wars, if you order JUST infantry each round on the first island... you can actually win somewhat easily. Isn't that crazy!?

If you have levels on and make one of those missile launcher things you can just put it at the city that is below the city that is below those 4 or 5 citys and after it levels up to it's maximum it will be taking out about 1 unit a turn and taking no damage. If you do that winning is almost too easy.

Advance Wars is fun. I tried playing Famicom wars once but I couldn't get into it.

I love Kanbei on Advance Wars =D
It's great how he always refers to himself in the 3rd person and how he always goes: "It is decided..." when Sonja's in the middle of her explanation =D
I like the Map Creator in Advance Wars too! I made the first level of Fire Emblem with it!

The series as a whole is called Nintendo Wars. The installments of Nintendo Wars series is as follows: Famicom Wars, Gameboy Wars, Super Famicom Wars, Advance Wars, and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising. Advance Wars 2 is the first Nintendo Wars game to sport a subtitle. I never played a Nintendo Wars game before. Nintendo Wars is not as great as Fire Emblem. Will there be a GameCube Wars?

I don't recall hearing any news of GCN Wars...
And as for FE being superior to NW... that's a matter of opinion. I know I said at first that "Maybe it's not as good as FE," but I've changed my opinion a little bit since then. There are good and bad points in both. NW may not have as much plot, character development, etc., but I think the raw strategy gameplay makes up for that.
Plus, Advance Wars has a map creator! =D Do you know what people would do (including me) for a map creator in FE!?
And yeah... I knew about all the games in the series... I guess it's good that I didn't miss any in my personal records ^_^;; I've played all of them thus far except GB Wars and Advance Wars 2. Personally, I think SFCW has the best units, but Advance Wars has the best everything-else...

Grit rocks. He's my favorite AW and AW2 CO. I have to say I like Fire Emblem more, though, because I don't like using map creators much and I feel story is a very important part of gameplay. Plus I like RPGs.

Well... this is just opinion, but I believe gameplay and story are separate. I mean... just look at the old NES games. I see your point though... don't get me wrong.
I think the map creator is great on AW =D I also made the first island on Famicom Wars... only to find it was in the game already -_- I just wish it was better... or perhaps maybe I wish it was just bigger... then I could make some other FE and NW maps...
My favorite CO would have to be Kanbei or Max. Max only because I use Med. Tanks a lot... most of the time they're the only things I order (well, besides Infantry to take over buildings)...

Drake and Sonja are the best COs in AW2. Come on, they have great strategies and have a solid offense and defense.
The map creator is fun but I wish that you could place stuff like the huge factories for each side or even laser cannons. Maybe even add volcanoes. I also want to be able to change the size.
Now if Fire Emblem could only do that...

"The Eagle soars above you!" Yes, Eagle is the best. I played AW and AW2 before I ever heard of fire emblem, and I was completely shocked at the fact that you can't just sacrifice a unit in Fire emblem, like you can in Advanced Wars. Green Earth FOREVER!
