Call me an old fart, but I still remember that magnificent poetry thread we had here. Although..........I know most of us ain't the poem-ing kind, I still feel that it won't hurt to revive some old traditions.
OK, so I AM an old fart. =P
This here piece....was written in conjunction with some things and all that Castlevania madness I was going through. Yes yes, I know they're wimpy, but Soma kept running into Ghost Dancers and dying a stupid death. I suck.
Flitting daintily above the glass, They dance their little songs, Never seeing the jagged mirror Beneath their flowery throng.
The glass broke down, The flowers died, The ghostly dancers faded Into a lie.
Forgotten in swirling tides, All the laughter they once shared, Drowning in the shadows deep Dying in the darkness there.
The glass broke down, Cutting blood bleeds. Their fragile trust Falling to seed.
Full of life and laughter once, The glass could not be mended. So all the ghostly dancers fled Never to return again.

Wee!
::first comment dance::
VERY AWESOME! I love it, the flow is good. Wonderfully expressive style of writing, and morbidly fascinating. (Castlevania is a cool game!)
You know what I was i was thinking as i browsed and read poems (rather sceptical), jeez did this guy copy this from some book in some old library's basement? But for you it is a different story. In short, i loved the your poem, you are like the computer processor, putting analog info into digital, vice versa...In human terms, emotions into words; that's a gift, and the only way to survive.
Previous readers were probably in awe:). I hope you write MORE stuff like this!
::adds your page to Fav.::
*too much nonsense from me, I shut up right now.

I hardly deserve such credit.... ;_; Although, I'll definitely write more stuff like this one. Why else would I start a thread? XD Just that production rates won't always be smooth...poetry mood comes in rather erratic cycles, sad to say...

More so-called poetry from yours truly. ^^ (If any of you want to join in, don't be shy)
Sometimes, somewhere, there is a night When stars are torn asunder, Revealing bits of falling dreams. They fall, pattering Onto rooftops, chimneys, And the back of an old horse Waiting in the cab’s stables. With a careful thimbles and star-filled eyes Poets scooped them up And with them make their mead. One drop of a dream fell Down the chimney of a little boy’s room And rolled into his bed. And so to his mind, The boy sprouted wings and flew to the stars, Wishing the same wishes as faeries. And he woke into the world, The dream gone into the morning light, Knowing what is precious.
