Actually if you read the lastest news it says the GBA version of FE6 and 7 might be able to link up to the GC version. Perhaps those codes will allow those without the GBA link cable to enter their info into FE8?

Its more likely that this is used for tourniments as the Mario Golf games have a similar feature in them. Good finding.
Also as Gamersara pointed out there was a Fe6 challenge. I always wonderd how they verified if the people were not lying.
As for codes I know the transfer data needs an odd button press code to unlock (along with the Gamecube disc etc).
Don't ask me any more as I don't even have the game (A European release date is a possibility!)

if its for linking to GC that would be good. but I think only a remade FE6 would be able to do that
