I've played quite a few and met quite interesting communities. I'm just curious to see what kind of MMO games people play.
Well, for my part I think they can be fun at times or pains. Though I only play Beta Testing ones...I don't really know.
note: Massive Multplayer Online Games not just RPGs

I hate the online communities you find in that sort of game. I avoid them like the plague.

But no matter how hard you try, you will always be surrounded by idiots. That's what most of the online gaming world consists of, idiots who think they instantly become witty when they use anatomical references.

I played Planetarion until they started charging for it. It was probably a good thing, since I spent too much time sending and recalling fleets, and to be in any way successful, I would have to log on to check the progress during class, which was troublesome when I no longer had a computer class in the middle of the day.

I played PristonTale...Great game...But awful support. The English version still uses the old patch while the Korean(The creators are Korean),Japaneese,Chineese,Thailand, and Taiwan versions have the new patch... The creators h8 ppl who live outside asia -.- but its ok,no Player Killing though .

I used to be a WarCraft III: ROC&TFT addict. I got tired of it cause of all the time you spend playing online and progressing so slow. Some custom games are fun but in the end you sometimes find your weekend afternoon wasted on only 2~3 of them!!! Especially those Tower Defence ones, they're fun at first then after you get your booty whooped you'll go, "HOLY SHIT, TWO HOURS DOWN THE DRAIN TO THAT TOWER BUILDING NONSENSE". And you'll wonder why you'll do something like that.......well because Blizzard games are very addictive. But from all those time wasted I still have memories of some REAL HILARIOUS WC3 INCIDENCES.....but don't ask me for replays......the version their from are way outdated. Those games can seriously get funny at times....actually quite a lot of times.

Priston Tales, Ragnorok Online, Gunbound.....my fave is Priston-Tales. Ragnorok Online costs to play,
Gunbound is too much like Worms Armageddon for me it feels like a rip so I don't feel very comfortable with it, Priston-Tales has some right idiots on it but the game itself is nicely designed for a free game too bad theres even less point since quests are even fewer than most games.
Worms Armageddon still has a quite large internet gathering fanbase you know. I still haven't tried it out yet though, but when I do go on the server theres tons of games going on.

I've played Ragnarok Online about 1 year ago. It was okay. I play a bit Priston Tale. The only problem is the recent wave of hackers(gone now) and the community. The community are a bunch of greedy jerks that try to cheat you out of your money and other stuff. Though there are some nice people. I've also played a game called Conquer Online... By the way...Priston Tale players may like this flash movie. members.lycos.co.uk/edtan/irony.html

The higher level people are right bastards....
The general attitude of the higher level people is quite nasty....I only met a few who are okay.

I avoid MMO games like the plague. I don't like having to pay a monthly fee to play a game. I don't like people that sit all day trying to figure out ways to cheat because they hate sunlight. I don't like the elitist attitude of some 13 year old shitstain because my level isn't up to his, and because I actually have a life outside gaming. If I want to play games against other people, I do something wierd: I invite my game playing friends over, and we play. It's something strange called "Human Interaction" that most of these people don't get.

Usually you will find the same attitudes/people on forums as you will in MMORPGs, I too do not like some fo the dumbasses/littlekids but I think games like Ragnarok are awesome, especially if all you play is offline console games. A MMORPG i am looking forward to is City of Heros, looks pretty sweet.
