Oh wait! I asked him to please join, and I might of asked to forcefully, and now he is mad at me because of it. I guess I'm mad at him for taking it so seriously, and so he seems to like to post about me dying at his hands....
I meant guests in general, not just him, because I'm also curious as well!

Most boards can and do stop guests in general from posting. No idea why this one doesn't.
I would assume that they could ban his IP, but then it'd stop him from posting even if he registered, so...

There IS a way to stop guest posting... set all the boards so only members can post. See, there's a few options for who can post new topics, reply to topics, and view certain boards: either ANYBODY can post/view, only members, and only mods/admins. Or... you COULD ban the guests' IP address, but then they can't become members.
So in short... yes, you CAN disable guest-posting (check out my forum... can't post as a guest there... =P)

The issue isn't weather you CAN stop a Guest from posting (show me one board that doesn't allow it's admin to choose that), but weather they want to. As for me, until there are problems, I've decided to enable it on my own board, because we're so new that we only have five regular posters, one of whom is the "Guest" that we get here. All said, it's a real bitch to change the options for all your boards (especially if you have as many as I do), so I can see why TF doesn't want to do it just for the sake of getting rid of one or two bad apples. |

Reading guest posts recently really does make you feel your IQ drop below ground level. I'm seeing less and less of a need for guest post... if it was disabled, it just forces people to register. =P
Sure, you could IP ban otherwise, but only TF and Cap can do that. Make that only TF, since Cap doesn't stick around. It's be useful if more people had the ability. *coughs* =P

personally i dont see why guests cant just register . its free. I think guests shouldn't be allowed to post. they should register.

Well, actually for people like me whose stupid e-mail wouldn't work for a while, being able to post as a guest was very helpful.
