Torobant and arion are both tough enemies. I don't even know why you bother with nice low movment land troops on them anyway.
Torobant needs a few magic hits and some regular attacks by leaf to see him packing. Arion however, you usally needs Leaf blasting Tornado in his face to allow ANY chance of ares being able to finish him off (ammoung other instances).
Lakche is usless for Arion. You may have forgotten what awareness does and the fact the gungneir is a VERY good SPEAR. Spear beats sword. so whats that lakche will be doing about 12 damage arion about 50. Plus Arion has the upper hand anyway.
As for the Ayra issue. Ayra is probably THE Female you don't want being killed off. Shooting Star hit and awareness are just too much to miss out on. Radney and Roddlavan ane not bad characters at all is just their chronic lack of skills that does it. You don't even need any Characters to Fall in love to be able to 4As overall (and get to see that bonus ending) so its easily possible with subsitutes.

Why bothering with Ares (Mistoltin) and Leaf (Tornado), when you have an Holsety user in your team ?  Place Arthur/Sety/Corpul (if he's already promoted), in such a way that Allione CAN'T attack the Holsety user in his turn, but YOU are in his range when it's your turn. And then.... One (berserk) or two shots (normal) of Holsety on Allione, and he's quickly history  If your hit rate is a bit low, place Celice, Delmudd, Nanna (and eventually, the Holsety user's lover) in order increasing the hit rate. |

Holsety is the way to go for killing Arion. I've managed to kill him with the Hero Axe once but that was because he has 5 HP or so.

You can also use shanan to beat down Arion if Leaf isn't using Tornado. Besides what use does a Holsety user have with a PRAYER ring. |

Besides what use does a Holsety user have with a PRAYER ring. My poor Starwolf, I plan on playing a game with all the substitues, but it will not be before, at least, at my 6th game... And consider that I'm currently at Chapter 5 of my 3rd game, and that I'll begin university tomorrow...  By the way, you're contradicting yourself... You're saying, right now, that you can also use Shanan against Arion. But... Since Balmunk is a lighter sword version of Holsety, what use does a Balmunk user (namely, Shanan) have with a PRAYER Ring ?? ;D ;D ;D |

Shanan will not be able to kill him in one round just weaken him thats all. Anyway the Balmunk is in more of a cash crises than Holsety (unless its owned by corpul but thats where patty comes in useful).
Of course you could just use a sleep staff. Or run past Arion. Oh, and tell me when you are planning to do your subsitute game I can give you a lost of subsitute events.
Your in no rush to try it. I just tend not to use Holsety for Arion thats all.

I have to disagree on that simply because Sety and most of the other Holsety users are staff/magic users (excluding Arthur). I find myself spending all my money on rings and staffs more than my Holsety. |

It is important that you avoid killing off Ira and that you have her to join Siglud's party. If you have a saved game with Ira killed off in Chapter 1, you must start over Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu. You should keep Siglud and Cuan far away from Ira until Genoa is conquered.
