This patch changes _no_ text - it is _not_ a translation patch.

Also, it's only half finished :/ But, as some of you may remember, the FE4CDB was supposed to open at the start of this week, and as some of the people who remembered may have noticed, it didn't. Because I've been working on this. So I decided I'd put up what I've done to show that I haven't just been lying around.

Calculating Hex values by hand is fun

It takes way too long though, so I'm not doing it by hand anymore :/ I made a program to determine the values for me. But I still insert them by hand :/

What does it do...?

Well, some people will figure out what is changed, and what I've done, straight away. Other people may realise what I've changed, but not understand what I've done... and some people may not realise at all until they see one of the ones that is really different.

And yes, I _know_ it's... wrong... in a place. That's because they decided to change the order on me and I haven't had time to move things around yet :/

I'm not too sure yet but from what I've played so far, the most noticable difference is he's replaced the FE4 weapon sprites with FE5 sprites.

I'd like to see if I could change the in-battle weapons as well... but that involves finding them first. I found the pallettes for them, but that doesn't really help.

All the spells are the same... I knew they were similar, but I didn't know they were exactly the same (pallette issues aside). That leaves only the staves to go. And the arches...

Anyways...

I could put together a program to let people edit the weapon icons... but would anyone _want_ it? The only problem is it would have to be done in Java, because I don't know any GDI or anything that would let me use C++... and I don't know much C++ anyways...
Bits are hard to work with in Java :/
I could use PHP, as I've done to make my helper program, but I doubt that everyone's got an HTTP Server on their computer with PHP support.


From what I've read of Jay's stuff, the portraits are compressed. And I'm inclined to believe him... so unless someone was able to make a picture of Moustache Sigurd which compressed to the exact size as it does currently under the same method, I couldn't really do anything. And even if someone did, I don't know where the portraits are stored or their compression method.

You can try changing the protraits. Stick in some of the Thracia 776 protraits.
