To tell the truth, it's not a strategy which have a long brainstorming before to do that, but I was surprised by the ennemy's reinforcements, and Barth was on the bridge at this time...... (hum) But the pirates in the north never attack Lilina with throwing axes, the always attack Barth. So you can put her here for grow her stats easily. And before I gave her an angel's clothes, which boost her HP by 7.
Marcus, hum he's still my best Paladin, so I never hesitate to take him for dangerous moment.

Well normally what I do is surround the pirates....
Level up Thanny a bit than set her on one of those Southern Forts the one where the non-throwing axe pirate comes out and she'll hold her own.
As for the northern forts I surrounded the pirates on the bridge. Had Wendy, Noah and Wolt on the South side and Roy and Lillina and Dieck and Fil beating down from North and Rutger fighting the boss and Chad and Shin rescuing the village

I don't mind the reinforcement. They appear ,toy them, display your strenght , gain some nice exp.

Eh, I never really had to brainstorm it either. Noah just happened to be there with the perfect weapon equipped. Next thing I knew all the pirates were running in his direction. =P
I try not to use Marcus or Zealot very much at all unless I really need to, so that others can get EXP. When you level up your social knights and promote then to paladins, any given one will be better than Marcus and Zealot. Believe me. =P

Lance and Alan are my best bet. Their support level at that stage is B, put they stand together and laugh at those stupid pirates who're crying

Heh..I only had C support for them by the end...
Lance was very fast for me, but other stats were ...average I suppose. His defense was terrible..
Alen had great defense but was piss-poor in strength and below average everything else..
Noah was rather balanced but had a great skill stat. Plus he kinda went nuts with the critical hits if Fir was close to him (their support for me is A)...
Trec... all around terrible... I ditched him after chapter 13. ><#nosmileys

..Was that sarcastic? :D I do get people telling me they did well with Trec, but I'm biased toward Noah, in addition to Trec being useless. =P

Yeah, yeah, I know that I need to level up the other guys and throw away Marcus and Zealot, but at the same time this game is the first RPG I play in my life..... So I'm not a professionnal. So I prefer play safely with strong units like them for the moment, hum.....

Yeah I know, Marcus and Zealot are good to have around in case you're stuck in a rut..
Though I'm just saying, their stat growth is fairly poor and if you want a really good paladin down the road, Lance/Alen/Noah/possibly Trec will all have better stats than Marcus and Zealot.

You have a really crappy Lance and Alan. I never use Noah and Treck though.

I've changed my mind 'bout TReck. he isn't that bad. I mean ,he has good starting stats, good growing rates. What more do you expect ? I used him this time, in hard mode, since I'm bored with Alen and Lance, and Treck is now one of my strong ones, not too bad... I begin to like him since generally most of the not-good-looking characters in FEs have little use and love (like Gonzaes, Nimie, and the armour guy in FE 4 I can't remember...). How unfair

But ...Trec has support with Milady!
Which is kind of stupid anyway, he's always forgetting her name.
And anyway, I think we've already established that Milady wants Gale. :P
I know my Alen and Lance sucked.. Alen started out well in his stat growths but I wound up disappointed by the time promotion time came around. Noah was the first promotion, and I decided after that not to promote Alen and level up Lance instead, who didn't look too bad stat-growth-wise. Turned out a bit better than Alen, minus the *hurting* defense.
Yeah, and for me... Noah had the love factor. Hello, Noah/Fir? :P
