I also kinda guessed that as well when it had a use option.
And I didn't notice that.....why DID they increase Dunrandal's weight so much?

That's how I found about about Leaf's Hikari no Tsurugi. =P I didn't mess with Fuuin enough to stumble upon a 'use' option.. heh.
I guess with Eliwood class changing and getting a much higher con and all, they wanted to make it tougher for him to wield the Durandal since 12 wouldn't have been a problem. His speed's pretty good in my current game, so he'll do better with it this time. =P

Only problem is that Lord Knight's max their speed at a craptacular 22 so with a 16 weight Durandal that weighs him down to like 6 speed

Er... no. Eliwood's as a Lord Knight build is 9, so his attack speed (if you maxed his speed stat) with the Durandal should be 15.

And Lord Knight's max speed is 24, not 22. I always give Eliwood a con ring to give him a boost.

I didn't say the SoS was a Divine General's Weapon I said it was a holy weapon. So it's not a holy weapon like the Falchion or the Hikari no Trurugi?

Oh, it's 24? Well...that's not so shitty then. I've never maxed it and probably never will. =P
I don't know what the hell people call SoS, but I don't remember it being.. well, holy. (I said divine, not divine general. Divine = holy. Man, people need to pay attention.) Its legendary and special, I don't know the exact description/classification.

I was going off FE4's Lord Knight stat cap.... I've never seen Eliwood max out his speed so I wouldn't really know. Most I ever saw it at was around 19 and that was with my affinity as Reason.

It still doesn't make his attack speed 6.... I mean, 8, if you max his speed. Build always goes into the equation.

I'm just generally annoyed that they increased the weight, I found it hard enough to use in FE6 and it also explains why my Eliwood gets thrown around more so with Durandal than he does with a Kill Sword or Silver Lance.

I use the Durandal very little and only if I have to in FE7 because of its weight. My first Eliwood got hit twice by the Dragon. ;(
The only reason I had no problem with FE6's Durandal was because Fir had maxed speed and skill and I'd given her a body ring. The heaviest sword in the game and she still attacks everything twice with it.

Rutger was doing the same for me, but the thing was everyones dodging had gone to pot including Fil's once they used Durandal. Worse still with Fil I had to give a body ring or two to compensate enough, at least Rutger had a bit more build.

at least you can buy as many body rings as you want in FE6 while there are only 2 in FE7.... my poor magic units with low Con.......and i wonder why then increased the weight of ALL magic spells by SO much in FE7....

Because magic was made more insanely powerful in FE7?
Looks you have the introduction of Luna and plentiful Nosferatu, that spell combo alone is enough to wipe out everything.
You also have Finbur which is now usable in game and also all the magics had their usage upped alot...like Fire is now 40 uses.
And finally you get easy access to near every kind of Light magic, Purge, Divine, Aura....

Yeah magic would be too powerful if they kept the low weight. I'm glad they thought about that. But like you said, there's 2 build rings in FE7, I give one to Canas and one to Eliwood and that helps a lot.
