Melchoir, Belthasaur and that other dude are based off the Three Wise Men.
Notice Chrono sacrificed himself to save everyone else like Jesus plus the way he died is the same position Jesus was supposed to have took plus theres the matter he let off a final Luminaire attack (Lightning). There was supposed to be Thunder when Jesus died.
In fact theres tons of references to the Book of Revlation like 1999 A.D. is supposedly the day of the apocalypse, Day of Lavos in Chrono Trigger.

Even the different time periods are based off the visions and stories in the book of revelation described. Epoch, the characters themselves are very similar to some of the disciples in their roles. Even the side mission with Robo planting the forest is actually in the bible.

Uh no, Chrono Cross is a spin off alternate universe story. Its just basically about the events after Chrono Trigger and tries explaining what happened to Schala.
It doesn't have a scratch on Trigger imo though.

whoa......sounds like Link's Zelda 2 move that made a come back in the end of the final boss fight of Windwaker. And not to mention SSMB. I have to start this game sometime....once I finish the other ones that I've started.

Wow. I never thought about Chrono Trigger being parallel to the Bible. I guess the whole doomsday thing is somewhat like Revelation, with the beast ruining the world. By the way, most people say Fire Emblem lords are weak, but from what little I've played of Gaiden, Alm seems to be a solid character.

He is a solid character but he does come off as a bit slow otherwise he is bloody strong and Celica being fast but weaker.
But you still couldn't leave him in the middle of a army like Sigurd and slaughter multiple units single handedly.

Sigurd's the manliest of men. Most lords can do what Sigurd does. Alm is pretty powerful but slow. He gets to use 2 really powerful swords that only he can use. Celica is powerful too. She has many spells that can cause damage.

Its just strong magic was heavily penalized in Gaiden, the more powerful it was the more health you'd lose so it more or less balanced out. There was noway you could leave a magic user to repeatedly drop entire armies except perhaps a Light Magic user since they got Rizziah.

I noticed Sigurd is pretty sturdy, possibly one of the best, if not the best, starting unit. I don't know how he pans out later though.
I've only played three Fire Emblems - FE 2, FE 4, and FE 7 - and the lords in those games don't seem too bad. However, I hear Marth is extremely lousy.
