In the first episode, the father was ranting about how the name Gundam is applied to every anime with giant robots.

I've watched the whole series subbed(it's 6 or 5 episodes)
I liked the whole thing. I really liked the whole series and my favorite character(hasn't appeared yet) is the guy with the huge eyebrows...

Hey, I love Fooly Cooly too! I think it's the funniest anime I've seen a long, long, time...I really liked the episode I watched today, where the robot is reading Hustler XD Of course, that still doesn't change the fact that it's the craziest anime I've seen in a long time. Crazy in a good way, but still totally insane  |

I'm an FLCL fan, and I'll admit GAINAX has created what is, in the end, nothing more than an acid trip given visual form. The premise is basically Takkun being a depressed young man with no real aim in life and a penchant for being fed up with the boredom surrounding him. His older brother's former girlfriend Mamimi keeps hitting on him (and loses her panties every episode at least once), and then Haruko shows up. Haruko is supposedly an alien who rides a vespa which runs on action figures, and wields a gasoline-powered guitar. She's responsible for bringing the robots out of Takkun's subconscious, including Lord Canti, the television-head. The series really has no distinct point, but it's certainly a pulp-culture reference to end all.
So, how much did Cartoon Network mangle this time? I've seen the DVDs unedited, so...

Williams Street is not going to mangle Furi Kuri, so it's practically unedited, except for one part in the final ep. that they admitted they did cut out a part.
The beauty of FLCL is that is gives you tons of stuff that you would find random at that time, but then later it shows that it's not. (For example, Haruka's cat). Also, it deals with maturity and society and such, but it's all covered with randomness. It's really deep, but most of it is covered in sugary substance. In fact, you won't probably find out what the plot was until you watch the series over! You'll have to dig deeper to see EVERYTHING in FLCL. For instance...
Did you see the Kenny from South Park cameo in Ep. 3? GAINAX must really love South Park. (HINT HINT)
