Either bring characters with high speed, characters with high resistence, or.... I don't know. Get to the enemy fast enough to take them out. (Uh..maybe give Rath or someone a longbow? Sometimes the enemy has such bad AI that the bishop in my game stood directly in front of Rath/across the wall from Rath while using Purge. SMART MOVE) The mage with Bolting is easy to take out if you send someone (like, oh, a highly levelled or promoted flying unit with a Spear or Short Spear?) over there... plus you GET the Bolting book when he's dead. Provided he hasn't used the thing up. So I'd hurry on that one.

Pegasus Knights, magic users and also Barrier staff are your best friend for this

I've tried my Pegasus Knights, they suck against Purge and especially Bolting! Plus my luck sucks! How does an attack with only 8% chance of hitting hit? I've been using: Eliwood-Lord-Level 12, Lyn-Lord-Level 16, Hector-Lord-Level 15, Erk-Sage-Level 3, Serra-Cleric-Level 10, Lucius-Monk-Level10, Priscilla-Troubador-Level 10, Rath-Nomad-Level 10, Rebecca-Archer-Level 10, Matthew-Thief-Level 13, Canas-Shaman-Level 10, Wil-Archer-Level 13, and Fiora-Peg Knight-Level 8. Any suggestions? I've tried to get them into the building with the General and Sage, and also tried lining them up against the side of the map! It just won't work!

Pent + Silence Staff = Happiness
Pent's the only one skilled enough to use the silence staff at that point, mind you. Have him use it on the guy with bolting, since purge isn't much of a threat. I know it seems like a good idea to save the silence staff for bosses like Sonia, but trust me, it won't work on them. The silence effect will last 4 turns -- plenty of time to unlock the door with Legault (Matthew's too slow for this mission, IMHO) get inside, and knock the fool over the head. Once he's gone, you can easily take care of the bishop, and the druid with eclipse isn't a threat at all.

I don't want to use Pent. He's too powerful. True that Erk can't use the staff, but I prefer Erk over Pent just because I like his personality better, and that he isn't that strong. I would just like to know if it is possible to beat the level with the characters I'm using, and how to do it. Oh yeah, I also did wait until level 20 to promote Erk.

Its really easy but depends on the route, on the route with the Bishop boss don't kill 5 or 4 (I forget) promoted units before turn 9. On the route with the assassin boss Jerme, don't open 5 doors before turn 9.

If you kill the enemies quickly, Karel will arrive. Kill them slower and Harken should arrive. The exact numbers are probably somewhere around this board. Just try not to kill too many and Harken should come.

It's four for each. In the chapter with Jerme, you have to open at least four doors by/on turn 9 for Karel to show up, otherwise you get Harken. In the chapter with the fat bishop guy, you have to kill four promoted units by turn 9 for Karel to show up... otherwise, again, you get Harken.
