Well... you did say that FE 1/3 had "primitive mechanics"... Anyway, I think I was a bit too extreme... I'm sorry.
It's just that... sometimes It's annoying to see the amount of FE4 fanboys in FE boards...
I could never really get into that game(No, haven't finished yet, but I'm almost there.)... The limited set of charachters, bad level desinging, low difficulty and a system which forces the player to pair up charachters(if he doesn't wish to get some crappy replacements)... meh... I do like FE5... But I have to oblige myself to play FE4...

The limited set of charachters, bad level desinging, low difficulty and a system which forces the player to pair up charachters(if he doesn't wish to get some crappy replacements)... meh... I do like FE5... But I have to oblige myself to play FE4... The word "primitive" (=old, originary) may seem extreme if you don't have a reference... but I have set my reference clearly. *Points to own sig* I talk about little gameplay problems - in comparation to FE4/5, that are my default - that annoy me. Like the character movement: you can only move the cursor inside the character's movement range, being unable to just "jump" quickly to wherever you want (well, I may have been a little confuse, but I guess you get it). The arena is insane (okay, my lvl 10 Marth with strength 8, auto-equipped with an iron sword, faces a def-14 hero with steel sword. Now that's funny.), and I'm not the strategic type. I follow the maxim: if you can't devise a good strategy (I can't), be stronger and trample your oppositors. So, I'm an arena abuser. An arena that sends undefeatable opponents more than half of the time doesn't let me abuse it. I'm a FE4/5 fanboy, I admit. And I'm not such a fan of difficult games on emulators, as I don't play anymore to test myself (as I did with a console - good times...), but to triumph. So, I don't really care for FE4 easiness (and it's, truly, known as the second easiest FE in history), as difficulty becomes blurry when you can use savestates (and must, because Windows crashes much more frequently than an actual console). A question of taste, I guess. To enjoy FE1/3, I'd have to think harder than arena-abusing. And I'm... well... too lazy to do so.

Okay I think we have talked enough about the FE collection for this topic! Moving swiftly on to the release date.
TF: If the Game has no Japanese release whats the Winter 2004 (WTF) blurb you were promoting in the Forum Blurb.
Judging by the fact that not even the storyline is finished we could be in for a long wait. If they had real stages or lots of work to show they would have showed more screenshots. Anyone remember Fe7.
My geuss is if they are hiding most of what they have Done I expect: Japan-Early 2005 USA-Late 2005 Europe-2008 (Thats being generous)
Realistically (ie they arn't hiding everything this is all they can show off), though: Japan: Mid 2005 USA: Christmas 2005 Europe: early-late 2006 (The NOE factor is very unpredictable. Mario Golf, a game thats players choice in the USA hasn't even come in Europe yet)

I believe that it said on one of those scans that it was coming out in Winter 2004.

yes in japan. we should expect it in less than a year then because TF(or someone) sed that the American FE7 came out months after the japanese one.

For all we know, they could have been working on this since Rekka no Ken, and just decided to release screens now... >_> It's possible!

Though it's more realistic to think they were working on it at the same time as FE7. I mean they must have known that whatever images they released would be all over the internet, so maybe they wanted to keep it quiet, and they certainly wouldn't want to release it right after they released FE7, since people would probably buy on or the other, and knowing Nintendo, they would want to milk FE7 for all it's worth, then later release FE8. This sorta makes sense, but I kinda doubt they'd be able to keep the details about FE8 quiet for that long.

Game developing isn't something quick. It's very likely they've began with FE8 just after releasing FE7. Or even before.

IS said somewhere a while ago that they started working on it early last year or something. Been taking awhile because they're also working on Paper Mario 2. XD
Anyway, winter 2004 in Japan. Don't expect an estimate for us, if any, until E3 at the earliest. (I hope it's playable... but I doubt it. ;_;)

Should we prepare a wheelchair for you if it is? Because if that's the case, I can see your knees giving out. XD

I might have to be dragged out of the Nintendo booth by lunchtime on Wednesday. Show closing if FE6 is there too.
Or hell, I might pass out at Tuesday's Nintendo press conference if they show them in English there. XD;
