Although I must admit that was a reaction based in the catgirl and 3D graphics. They scared me.

Finally, this FE will be on GC... Well, at least the 3D graphic view seems to be isometric, like good old Megadrive/SNES games... That's not so bad  But I agree with TF, Iris and BigBeuBeu... Catgirls ?? Iiiirk... (Add to the fact I HATE Final Fantasy series... T_T) |

But part of what makes Fire Emblem so cool is the lack of fruity animal people. There are Mamkutes but they are way cooler than cat people. I'd rather the have the story on Mamkutes again. Oh BTW anyone notice that this is the first time in Fire Emblem history that the main character is not some rich prince from some dukedom? He's just some lame merc. Well his father DOES have a mysterious past apparently. =P And yeah, I don't like the fruity animal people either. Let's hope they don't turn to to be so fruity in Souen no Kiseki. ;_; |

Sorry for the double post, but I just wanted to add on to what I said earlier.
IMO, the cat girl idea seems pretty cool. I feel that in order to make something better, you have to be willing to sacrfice something in order to do so. Change is good. Don't judge a game early on by how it looks early on. ***looks at Wind Waker case***

... The thing is, IIRC, all Fire Emblems before this (and there's 7) have only had Humans and Dragons. And Dragons are usually just the Final Boss.
And there were never many mentions to animals (I think) and now all of a sudden they're gonna have Beastmaster-like classes (from FFTA, *shudder*)... These seem to be like Mamkutes, but the least they could have done was make the people LOOK human, cause the Mamkutes looked human. These "Mamkutes" have:
Catgirl - Cat ears
Lionboy - Way too much hair
Birdboy - Wings
Fa, looked entirely human. Aside from those wings... But those only were in the battle/map animation... And it was like some dragon-transformation thing... These guys like not-entirely-human 24-7...
And it's 3D. Fire Emblem hs NEVER, EVER been 3D! EVER! And it's never had a diagonal map. It's always had the horizontal-vertical map.
It's just different. It doesn't seem like the traditional Fire Emblem in those senses. It's weird. I'll prolly get it for my friend and play it on his GCN...

Although I don't like some of these changes, I'm determined to keep an open mind. I've always said I wanted the next FE game to introduce some new surprises...catgirls aren't exactly what I was expecting, but as long as the game is good, I won't complain. At least it's not another FE6 clone.

Alright, from these screens, I can see a few things...
The main character will be a Lord, because they've been lords since the dawn of SNES Fire Emblems, if not before. So yeah, the class will still be Lord.
We will see the return of the Social Knight! Or at least a female lance wielding non-mounted character that has lighter armor than knights/generals. She'll most likely be a female Lord.
There will be a brand of Medium Axe Fighters, or that guy is a Lord too.
Either the bad guy's a badass shaman type person, or there's also a Shaman chick making an appearance.
And someone wields a basket.
Edit: That last comment is just me being retarded.

That's exactly how I feel BlueRondo. This game will probably turn out great, but there is still plenty of time for this game to become a little flashy and such.
I really want to see what the combat animations will look like in 3-d though.

Guest person's right.
Most major graphic overhauls are done wthin about 3 months of release. For right now, that's close to how they'll be, but when it releases, expect polished stuff to the max. The armor'll shine so well off the tv that you ladies could do your hair looking at it.

Holy **** yes! (The older members may recognize that line...) This game looks awesome! I first thought it was an April Fool's prank, to be honest. As for the changes, who knows? They could be for the better. You might even think how FE did without them. Maybe.
