I am using Eliwood at Lv. 10, Lyn at Lv. 18, Hector at Lv. 15, Guy Lv. 13 Myrmidon, Matthew Lv. 14, Priscilla Lv. 14 Troubador, Lucius Lv. 2 Bishop, Erk Lv. 1 Sage w/ Bolting, Dorcas Lv. 1 Warrior, Heath Lv. 11 Dragon Rider, Fiora Lv. 13 Peg Knight, Rath Lv. 11 Nomad, Kent Lv. 3 Paladin, Legault Lv. 12, and Merlinus at 19. I want to beat the level, recruit Nino and talk to Jaffar, and get the Brave Lance. Any suggestions on a strategy to use?

Im not sure, but i think your character lvls are pretty low.....anyways, for the brave lance, i usually use bolting once they steal it.

I use Bolting before the thief can even reach the door. =P I just make sure Erk can SEE the guy, so if either Matthew or Jaffar are close enough, that helps...
Some of the levels are kinda low, especially Guy, Heath and Fiora. Not a bad group though, actually. (I'd bring a Heaven Seal with Lyn just in case she reaches LVL 20 BTW.) Just use someone with high resistence to drain out Ursula's five Bolting uses and move Nino out of her Bolting range 'til she uses them up. You might need to rescue Jaffar too, depending on how far he strays,s ince you need to get Nino to talk to him. Usually when I play he breaks his Killing Edge, so he can't kill his way out of trouble forever.#nosmileys

I could pull out one of my lower level characters and put in Canas as a Level 3 Druid.

Good idea. =P Canas can survive the Boltings the best out of your group, I think. I'd leave Heath, Florina and Rath in so they gain some levels, but it's up to you.

and in the case erk doestn do his job with "bolts", bring up untis who can attack through the wall, like Mages(Druids..) or Snipers, to kill the thief just right after he steals the stuff

I beat the level, easier than last game, but now I need some help still? How do I get my character's levels higher so they are at least on par with what your character levels seem to be? Everytime I post a help topic like this all my characters levels are too low.

Don't waste EXP on pre-promoted units like Marcus, Louise, Pent unless you absolutely cannot help it. And even then keep it to a minimum. =P Hopefully you got both Jaffar and Nino, and got to 26x.... By the way, I'd suggest using Nino (give her a Fire and a Thunder, Elfire weighs her down a bit) and leveling her as much as you can. She turns out a lot better than Erk promoted, I promise. =P

RNG can do anything.
It could give me a Hector with all stats maxed at lvl 16 promoted...
It could give me a Florina who has 10 in speed at lvl 20.

Random number generator. Thing in the game that (*cough*randomly) decides what stats you gain when you get a level up.

First time round of this map I ened up using a rescue staff to get Nino to talk to Jaffar and as for levels being too low, that complete and utter coblers. For starters that party has characters promoted. My party didn't. It was like this Ursulas Boltning would pretty much kill (or leave on about 2 hp) anyone who got near. Thats why I had to use a rescue staff by the bit where Shams come and the throne room (you CAN rescue NPCs, remember). As for my first go. Jaffar Killed the theif after it stole the brave lance (NPCs don't get obtainable items). Stupid IDIOT! Good job I hardly use anything that isn't an Iron weapon. Also, you could just kill the theif before he leaves. Remember the obtainable items rule (ones in Green). Seriously my Final chapter was like Level 3 promoted characters (now why didn't I bring the pre promoted units who actually had better stats ). And that was on the Japanese (and harder) version of the map. It was like the Lords and Athos doing ALL the work.
