Well I started a new game. I have yet to beat this game. Part of the reason is becuase it's not in english if it was I already would have. Anyways I got to Eliwoods part again. I wasn't sure what charecters to make it a point to level up. So I go to gamefaqs. The charecter faq was done by some fire lizard fellow. I don't recognize him. Anyways I start reading about the charecters. I saw Rowen with a 2/10 usefulness rating. Never anywhere else on any fire emblem charecter faq have I seen a score that low (although I think most of the charecter faqs Ive seen where done be umm I know who he is but I can't remember how to spell his name oh well). It occured to me that this guy might not be aware that the level ups arn't scripted (well lins first one might be but thats it). Anyways im wondering how accurate that is. It's pretty much saying im a sucker if I use him at all. But if he just had bad luck I don't want to take it out on Rowen.

Rowen is one of the worst characters in the entire game. Yes, he can actually end up far worse than Marcus, Kent and Sain when he is compared to the rest of them.
Unless you really like the guy, I don't see why you would want to use him. He's just got plenty of HP, luck and defense, but suffers in other statistics. He probably doesn't have any talent, that... or his hair just gets in his way too often.

Hmm, yeah he does have a higher defence though. I should change my rating if you guys think he sucks cause I myself only build him up in one game and he turned out pretty good. I only build him up in one game.

Rowen is crap? Uh-oh. Iv'e been using him a bit too much then  2/10? more like 5 or 6 I geuss. I swear when this game came out you were talking about how great he was. Ah well no wonder i'm finiding things so tough. |

Check TF's FE4 guide....you'll find Diadora has a -10...n_n;;
I still think you were WAY too harsh TF...

Why does everyone bash Diadora so. I would like to see you defeat Sandima without using her Silence staff! According to your ratings TF she is so useless the part will be unable to achive anything useful in her presence, her Silencing Sandima is useful so  Just because she doesn't hang about for long... |

Ummm... I really hate to break this to you but when I first played the game, I had no idea what the hell that staff does. I easily defeated Sandima without it.

I'm with TF on this one, i'm a newb to FE and i defeated Sandima without even knowing i HAD the sleeping staff. It wasn't all that hard either.

But your people got trashed by Fenrir (Or did you hit reset until it missed?). Oh yeah I forgot you used Edin and Ethlin the heal them whemn i fact it would have been easier to use what the game gave you.
I'm looking at this from the designers point of view. If you do that you will find every character is useful. Especilly Ninian and Diadora. Don't forget, Diadora can Silence that person with the Sleep staff.
I expect TF to be giving Ninian a -10 as well.
Edit: An 8.4. Well you have started marking characters reasonably (maybe, until the Cyas and Diadora bahing ends...).
At least your not like that FAQ writing fool, A 1/10 for Ninian. A 5/10 for Guy. All that person can see is strength and weapopns.

When I first started playing, I had no clue what Fenrir does until he attacked Deu repeatly... and missed everytime cause Deu was in the trees. I laughed at him and terminated with extreme prejudice. If I recall, the boss in chapter 3 with the sleep staff is surrounded by ballistas. You can silence him but Diadora will be creamed. Like I said before, I was still new to the game then and didn't know what it does. I gotten through those easily without even having to use Diadora. I agree that she would come in handy for the situations you mentioned but those are just 1 or 2 spots in the game. Using for one of 2 turns doesn't count as being useful especially when those 1 or 2 instanct isn't even remotely hard to get through. I rate Ninian highly because she does more than just dance. Her growth isn't too bad either.

I just looked at Rowens growth. What is that FAQ writer talking about. Rowens growth is the most balanced out there for a Social knight. Geuss that author don't like Balance and wants just power. I really am looking away from sovial knights this play through.
Ironically he said bartol was more powerful when in fact Dorcas has higher power growth rates.
