now... are you sure roland was a hero? here is my evidence that he wasn't. see everyone in pherae are cavaleirs/paladins right But Rolan is not the descendant of Pherae but of all Lycia. It means Ostia Knights, Laus Cavaliers, Caelin i-don't-know etc..... And Harken is a hero and is from Pherae too......

God, this thread is scary.
GAAAAAAAH!
HOW MANY TIMES?
Dialogue descriptions are totally irrelevant to actual class!
Don't make me say it again, or there'll be trouble! TROUBLE, I TELLS YOU!
If I Remember Correctly, in Hector's ending he talks about how he reburied the Armads... one would assume that Eliwood does something comparable.
I believe that Harken's horse would have been killed off/lost when they were captured... Elbert's horse dissappeared, too...

Roland - Founder of Lycia. Wielded the Durandal, Sword of Fire Hartmut - Founder of Bern. Wielded the Exxaccus and the Sword of Seals Barrigan - Most Famous Knight of Ilia. Wielded the Malte, Lance of Ice Durban - Founded a clan in the Western Isles. Wielded the Armads, Axe of Lightning Hannon - Famous Nomad of Sacae. Wielded the Muirge, Bow of Wind Athos - Blah, blah, blah. Elimine - Founded the major religion of Elibe. Wielded the Aroule, the Holy Light. Braimmond - Controller the Seals on the Legendary Weapons. Wielded the Apocalypse
There we go.

Roland can't be ancester of all of Lycia. I'm sure he settled the country with other peolple and not all those peoples bloodlines interwined with his. He can't be ancester of people that just immigrated to Lycia either. Shoen I think Elimines magic was called Aureola. I've got the feeling Elimine is just like Serra. Elimine created a religion worshipping herself. Serra wants to do the same thing.

"Hero" doesn't mean anything, you know. It doesn't really mean Roland is of a hero class. It just means that he's the proverbial hero. He can be of any class you want, I'd imagine.
I do think, however, that most of the royal houses in Lycia has a bit of Roland blood in them.

ok, like entirely every one of the Eight HEROES were referred to at one point as HEROES!
ok?
plus you'll notice that in the beginning cut scene where it talks about how humans and dragons lived in peace, at the end it shows the eight generals (which btw, they were walso referred to as generals but that does not mean they were a promotion of the knight class either) and it shows pretty much one of every class I just mentioned that I think they belong to and many of them are certain. the only disputable one is hartmut and Roland. so pick which one you preferr. and generally a heroe is just a paladin with no horse. in past fe games you coudl dismount...

I know this is pretty stupid but I kind of think of the 8 General's classes as being the same as the boss guarding that general's weapon in FE6 (Though Athos isn't a Sage and Brammimond isn't exactly a druid but nevermind)

Brammimond is a druid that gave himself to the darkness like Nergal but he wasn't weakminded so he didn't keep trying to get more power like Nergal.

Feh.....some people...
We know that Athos is an "Archsage", the upgrade of a sage. Hartmut was known as a "Champion", an upgrade of a hero. Barrigan was a "Commander", an upgrade of a general. Durban was a "Mountaineer", or an upgrade of a berserker. Elimine was a "Saint", or an upgrade of a bishop. Brammimond was an "Anarchist", an upgrade of a druid. Hanon was a "Nomadic Ranger", or an upgrade of a nomadic trooper. And Roland was a "Slayer", an upgrade of a paladin.
Maybe this will clear things up.

Are you just making that up? Or have I missed something? Anyway... it'd be interesting if the main charachters of FE8 could class change three times.

Ok....well.......I think he is making that up. But basically people can have different opinions about the classess. I for one think 1) they were all special/lord classess except for Durbans kuz hes noted as a berserker 2) Roland to me has no horse.
and who ever said Elemine made a religion to worship herself was on crack kuz I think Eleminians worship god

I don't know about that. It IS stated several times that they worship gods(mathew's comments about Serra). And Elimine(whatever ) is called a Saint.... But I don't know... Somehow I do think that they worship Elimine... maybe I just forgot some dialogue.

And if he is a paladin, why would he be the one who weilds the legendary sword? Shouldn't he weild the spear then?
