I found this glitch at GameFAQs.
First, you lay a mine, then you wait for an enemy to walk onto the mine. Soft reset as the enemy takes damage. When you go back in, you will have control of all visible enemies on the map for that turn!

A + B + Start + Select all at the same time. I knew about this glitch for a LOOONG time now... but I never tried it out myself.

I wish I knew that during Port of Badon level. I used two mines on that level.

Would you really want to use it anyway?

You can use it to get different obtainable items by messing with inventories. You could also disarm everyone I haven't resorted to using it yet.

And apparenty you can have enemies give items to Merlinus. Poaion Weapons for all! ;D And if you give (Spoilers?) Vaida's spear in the level where she is a boss to another enemy, It becomes a drop item. The Uber Lance for all! (It adds to your stats)!

I've used it twice. On the Port of Badon level, disarmed everyone. And on the Linus level where you get Geitz. There I also sold a bunch of the weapons as well as disarming them. he he good fun. To bad I'm out of mines...

When you're talking about Vaida's stat gains... you're not talking about the level in front of Bern castle, are you? Because I'm relatively sure that the gains there do not come from the spear, which is just a 'Spear' (unless they have two versions of it, which is something the Igster could look at). If you look at her description it says something about her recieving her power from Nergal.
People who use things like the mine trick, or any sort of cheat, unless they're doing something like writing an FAQ or code harvesting or doing it just to see what happens, are just... bad. Sorry.

I had thought it was based on the character too,but I was disproven: As you can see,you get the stat gains from the Surrender Spear. It's too bad it only has 15 durability... A stat that's pretty unseen is that the spear also adds 17 HP. Too bad you can't go over 80,it would be cool to have your HP in the ?? marks like the Fire Dragon and Fargus. BTW Twilkitri,I like your thought about people who cheat just for the advantage. I respect that.

Hmm... I wonder whether that means that it's possible to give individual weapons stat bonuses, or whether it's a different weapon which just has the same name/image as the (Slender) Spear?
But I'm not going to get into looking at FE7 as well... I'm already behind in several assignments due to just the game, let alone looking at hacking it. I'll leave this for the Igster, if he feels like it.
