I'm talking about the real guy. I know he doesn't visit this board(I wish) but it's still nice to honor him for all the great things he's done for gaming. Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta go play Pikimin.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
I beat Yoshi's Island for the trillionth time today, and when seeing his name under "Producer," I was reminded of today. Now for some Super Mario Bros. 3 (on the NES)...
How much of a loser am I if I have this marked in my calendar?

It's really cool. But like every other super innovative game this generation, it's been passed up. Stupid kids with their Grand Theft Auto and their graphics...
*chucks GTA into the flames*

Never played Pikmin, but I've meant to. It sounds like a neat game.

Ahh... Pikmin's great! =D
I would compare it to another game, but I can't think of one because it's so innovative. But, I'm sure somebody will copy the idea eventually...
I mean, just look at the whole Mario and Crash Bandicoot thing. First there was Mario Kart, then there was that CB racing game (I forget the name)... first there was Mario Party, then there was Crash Bash =( I'm not saying that I ever played either of the CB games, I'm just making assumptions...

HEY HEY HEY!!!!! *takes GTA out of the fire* I'll have you know that Mr. Miyamoto is a fan of GTA! In an interview in EGM, he praised its freedom of gameplay, even if he didn't like its flagrant immorality...
Anyways, happy birthday, Miyamoto! The best game developer EVER.

True... GTA DID have a lot of freedom, but that freedom got awfully boring pretty quick for me (as I and various others have mentioned in the "Stupid Kids..." thread). But to think... Shigeru Miyamoto... a fan of GTA? That's just kinda wacky...

Despite my respect for Miyamoto... I totally suck at Mario and Zelda. Really, I stink badly at those games and usually don't own many Marios or Zeldas. I love Star Fox, and Pikimin and other games though.

Anyway.....has anybody ever read or seen interviews with Miyamoto? They are some of the most amusing things around.

I read one for Star Fox 64 and Pikmin. Kinda surprising... Miyamoto doesn't like Star Fox all that much =\
If anybody wants to see the interviews, I can scan them...
