I found a note in an old Brazilian magazine that talked about how the game Emblem Saga had its name changed to Tear Ring Saga, but the game itself wasn't changed.
Earlier, in the same note, they mention that Emblem Saga had FE characters.
Are there FE characters in Tear Ring Saga?

FE characters from other FE games? I don't think so... TRS does have at least 30 unused character pics tho...

Maybe in the beginning it was planned in.
It's not there now as far as I know.

Ok... thanks for replying.
(this kind of reply isn't spam, is it? If it is, I'll delete it.)

That's not entirely true. After FE 4, the original creator made Tear Ring Saga for the PSX. Since Nintendo still had, and still has, the rights to the Fire Emblem license, TRS is not FE. The reason there are so many similarities is because the same guy who created FE 1-4 made TRS.
However, Intelligent Systems, the company who makes FE, is a subsidary of Nintendo, so you'll never see a FE game on a non-Nintendo system.

The note talked about all of that, I just omited that info because it wasn't important to the topic.
Nothing that you posted contradicts anything that I posted. No info, that is. The interpretation of the facts is very different.
The note hints that FE's creator intended to make a FE without Nintendo's license(Emblem Saga), but ended up having to make a game that is only similar to FE because Nintendo tried to sue them.
You say Nintendo tried to sue him for making a game that's like Fire Emblem. Or not. You didn't mention Nintendo's action, nor the name change.

Originally, Shouzou Kaga was going to include characters from Fire Emblem games. It was something like "expect a few old faces". Kind of like how FFT on the PlayStation has cloud (read the black I just don't want to ruin that for anyone) Emblem saga with Fire Emblem characters and ganeplay unliscenced AND on the rival platform. If I were Nintendo I certainly would have had words. Insted you have some characters whose looks and weapons ring a few familiar bells. I found a Japanese site with alot of info on it: kyoto.cool.ne.jp/tssaiban/At least I think theres a chroncible of the events there...

Well, Fire Emblem did not change its name to Tear Ring Saga. That is a fact.
I don't know if Nintendo tried to sue or not. I'm just saying you won't see a Fire Emblem game on a non Nintendo platform.

Fire Emblem did not change its name to Tear Ring Saga. That is a fact.
And I never said that it did that. I said that Emblem Saga changed its name, not that Fire Emblem changed its name...

Oh. I thought Emblem Saga was an abbreveation for the Fire Emblem Saga. Actually, I guess Fire Emblem isn't technically a saga because the games aren't all related.
