I watched Pardon the Interruption on ESPN. They mentioned that PETA asked Labron (sp?) James not to accept the Rookie of the Year Award.
My question: How is PETA linked to the Rookie of the Year Award?

I'm not sure, but I THINK it has something to do with some of his sponsors.
I didn't even know they'd announced that he'd won the thing, personally.

Actually, I think it's between him and some other guy. I forget the other guy's name though.

You mean Carmelo Anthony, right? Yeah, that's him. Someone on another board said it was because the award is sponsored by the "Got Milk?" campaign. That would explain the joke about not milking cows. One of the guys on the show jokingly commented that if you don't milk cows, they they will explode. I do know he is partially correct; cows are in pain when milk builds up. That's why they moo. I know that much.

It's funny, because when I lived in Virginia, I lived about 10 minutes from PETA headquarters, so naturally, they were everywhere. I always wanted to parade down Hampton Boulevard with signs saying "Eat meat" and "How's my patent leather jacket?!", just to watch their reactions.

I personally think Bron Bron should get the Award. I mean that team was just a puddle of NOTHING untill he came, then that pumped Carlos Boozer and Illgausegus guy. Later on he pumped the rest of the team. And if ya look at his stats; they are pretty good.

Melo made the Western Playoffs.
Bron missed the Eastern Playoffs. The WASHINGTON GENERALS could have made the Eastern Playoffs.
That's all, folks!

One guy can't do it all. It is a TEAM sport after all. Well, at least it's supposed to be.

Well. Carlos boozer and Zydrunas Ilagaskius arent exactly cheap.........i mean they are no Andre Miller/Earl Boykins.....but they dont help much anyway. Now everyone in the East sucks so hard...........its actauly hard to get into the playoffs. of course its friggin hard in da west. anyways.......King James already got the award . hasn't actaully physically got it but its been announced he clinched it.
total ppg-30 , 5 Reb
Melo : total ppg 23-6 reb. im pretty sure those stats are correct

Carmello Anthony should get it he proved he is good against college and NBA players. Lebroun James kills people in high school. I'm not trying to hate though he is good, but they already chose the award was between one of those two before the season started because they both were hyped up so much. Too bad for the other good rookies in the league. Oh yeah I think the finals will be Detroit Pistons VS Minnesota Timberwolves
