I heard a lot of people say to keep sending people into the arena for good levels. Most times when I send someone, I just end up having to cancel the duel because my character gets his/her ass whipped. Is there some kind of trick to this that I'm missing?

We use savestates. Arena is also the way how I judge who's powerful and who's not. Although I find this method more effective in FE4 since everyone fights the exact same people.

Oh...well I guess that makes a whole lot of sense. I have the original game for snes so I can't save.

On the SNES hardware you will learn to avoid the arenas like the plauge. They are nothing but death traps. At least there is a withdraw button (in fe1 NES there wasn't )

The FE4 arena isn't a death trap. Besides there are some trick to the arena. Never bet on really high bets. Bet at around 500 bucks.

I just whip ass in the arena because I use PAR codes.
In the battle in FE3 with the secret shop in the second book (I don't remember the number... but it has George and Ricardo in it), I fought in the arena for a LONG time trying to get a bunch of promotion items.
I know, if I was using PAR... why not change the class or slap the items in their inventory? Well, that was before I discovered those type of codes. I know them now though ^_^

Yeah, stay around 500 unless your feeling REAL confident or simply really lucky (I mean, I did luck out defeating a few Dragons in the arena)

Good god that would be so ridiculously boring...taking several turns just to wait for the gamble for 500, and then repeating that many times for one character, and then repeating that 15 times for every character...

I told you it was boring. I'd rather just go out and kill something
