I was thinking. Even though I have yet to beat even the first book mostly because it's hard to keep interest without knowing whats going on storywise I decided to take on a quest. I was looking at some of the ones that people do and I thought the pegasus knight/dragon knight quest looked interesting. So I started today. I doubt that I'll actually complete it. Anyways I am on the second chapter sheeda is level 6 and marth is 4. I was wondering if I could do things like boss leveling and abusing the arena and after im done would it really be completing the quest? It is kinda cheating so I wasn't sure. One of the reasons why I chose this quest is I played the nes version up to chapter I think it was 15 but then lost interest. My point is I noticed few Pegasus knights and one of my problems has always been deciding who to use. Anyways some other helpful information would be about what I can and can't do. Like the early chapter with the general I think it was 8 could I use a magic user? Becuase according to Juigi's faq for the altean quest you can. So pretty much is what I want is some general rules that people who are using quests use.

I dunno... I don't usually go on special quests.
I just go through the game with PAR codes, get all the sprites I need, and I'm done with it for a while...
Sad I know, but I've learned a lot by playing FE that way...

Don't think there's really any definite rules...it's just whatever you feel is needed to be considered completing the quest. It's not like you're doing the quest to satisfy others, so make your own rules.
For example, I'm doing the all-female quest right now and making my own rules for them. Due to the lack of females until way later, I allow the use of males to fill any empty space. All kills go to the female, while the males are meat and maybe rough up the enemy a little. I'm at chapter 12 (?) right now and have lost 4 males so far. Each of them died for a good cause like taking the arrow against a sniper or surrounding sheeda to protect her. Partia has been sold because there's no female archer.
For me, I feel that abusing the arena is completely cheating considering you can't do it in the SNES due to the lack of savestates. Boss leveling makes the game boring, which would make it even harder to keep interest. For that matter, I try my best to plug up and avoid all reinforcements rather than letting them spawn for free levels. If you want to keep interest in the game, make it a challenge for yourself.
