So, this new FE is great and all, kinda weird with all the animal-transforming races (they'd better keep some Mamkutes around), a little weak on the 3D perspective, but I hope they get around to making it look a little nicer.
But Souen no Kiseki... what does it translate to? Considering the kanji, it's really quite unorthodox, but here are a few choices from not only my Japanese dictionary, but also some other sites, online japanese dictionaries, my mother, etc.
Trial of the Blue Flame Trail of the Blue Flame Axis of the Blue Flame Locus of the Blue Flame Miracle of the Flower Garden The Flower Garden of Pyroxene
... Has the FE community decided upon the actual title? Or shall we just call it Souen no Kiseki?
Personally, I'm leaning towards Fire Emblem: The Flower Garden of Pyroxene ^_^
I can see a dream in your dance... I can see tomorrow in your dance! We can call it... "OUR HOPE!" - Announcer, DDR 4th Mix
Although I'm relieved to realize it's not "flaming warehouse", and truly blue flame...
‘“ - Blue ‘q - Warehouse
(Lol. I forgot the upper "-|--|-". And, guess what? Both have "sou" as on-yomi reading. Wow. Dumb me.)
...I'm not so sure about the "miracle" part...
Sure. Kiseki is, usually, miracle. But, in usual kanji, it's "ŠïÕ". But the kanji there are "‹OÕ" - which my Edict (as well as Jim Breen's) dic translates as:
‹OÕ y‚«‚¹‚«z (n) (1) locus; (2) wagon tracks; EP
After looking at the pic, I would go with Trail of the blue flame. It says, "what 'kiseki' will his sword draw?"
Miracle is 100% surely wrong, because the kanji is different.
Wagon and locus is also 99% surely wrong, because the general Japanese populace would translate that as either 'axis' or 'trail'. It's not exactly trail either though...but I can't think of a much better word.
I also read a lot of Japanese manga, and the language in games and manga are very similar. My gut instinct says 'axis' or 'trail'.
Edit: The second part is surely Blue Flame. 'En' is a letter used for really strong fire, so fire would not be the correct word.
I don't even have a dictionary, but there is no way that gets translated as 'trial'. I don't see any other translation than 'trail' that fits. 'Axis' doesn't make sense, and now that I think about it I think I had it mixed up with 'path of revolution' like the path that the Earth takes around the Sun.
The best description I can make is that it's any mark that gets left behind, not necessarily from a wagon. It could be the light trail of a firework or the trail of Lewis and Clark. It can even be non-visible things, like the movement of a sword or the trajectory of a bullet. The common trait is that it all has some type of 'trail'...it's not some random specks going everywhere.
As for blue flame, it can be blue blaze also. They both sound fine and it's pretty much the same meaning so I don't know which one to lean towards.
The blue is also a 'respectable' type of blue, not like a happy go lucky type of blue. It's hard to explain...it's not the cheery type of blue that would be used to destribe "the bright 'blue' sky on a shiny day". But it can still be used to describe the same exact sky on a different perspective, like "the endless 'blue' sky of natural beauty".
Axis - An alliance of powers, such as nations, to promote mutual interests and policies.
Several words come to mind. War. Conquering.
World War 2, anyone? The AXIS OF POWER, Germany, Italy, and Japan...
If we look at it like that, and taking into consideration that the main leader is a mercenary, we can take a guess and say that his Mercenary Group is an Axis (with an alliance of powers) between different people/countries during a time of war...

That's my guess...
I guess we'll have to wait for details on the history in order to make a choice.
