There's no way the can mess the gameplay... just give the archers and mages a better range(5 squares), and give more moviment to everyone. And also, ranged attacks shouldn't pass through walls.

no, magic could pass through walls (like flux goes underground). but your right arros shouldn't be able to. but I don't think it should be 5 spaces, it should be 3. then a long bow would get 4.

Game FAQs is much worse when it comes to bitching and whining.
Besides, we're just critiquing the game. Just because a few of us find fault with the graphics doesn't mean we have given up on the game.
Or are we supposed to act like drooling, mindless fanboys and make a bunch of posts saying "OMG!1!1! OMG!1!1 BEST GAEM EVAR!!!!!11111111ONEZEROONE *DREWLS*"
Trust me, the intelligence level would drop real quickly if none of us bothered to challenge anything.

But in the same time graphisms are the only thing we can clearly talk about it.... Gameplay ? We must wait to play the game to be sure. So if we can't talk about graphisms whereas all we have are game screenshots and artworks...... Then if you think this is logic. I agree gameplay is more important than graphisms, otherwise I'ld buy a X-Box instead of playing to Fire Emblem on GBA....

Too many extremes, GSG. It's OK to critique, but I have to agree that everyone's been a little too hypercritical about this game. We haven't even seen a moving sprite yet!

I suppose the question is whether they'll show it at e3 this year, or if nintendo will wait until spaceworld in august. I would guess if it comes to e3, it'll be a US release.

I fail to understand this notion that you have to see movies to adequately judge the graphics.
Besides, I've found that quality of design and animation go hand in hand more often than not.

I don t think that way... Shining Force for example looks real great on screens(the GBA remake will be released end of this month in europe) but the battleanimations are only 2 or 3 Frames per Char.... FE look inferior on Screens but got some fabulous animations which makes it the nicer overall packige... at least in my opinion...

they changed some enemy designs but the screen and the hero-sprites are still the same as the MDs....
IMO nice grafics but ridiculous animations...
I m just implying that movies are vital to judge grafics...

The map battle animations are an improvment over Fe6/7 (they are actually animated this time!) but thats all the enthusiasm I can give. The screenshots show Jagged lines. Jagged lines that is So Sega Staturn/Some Dreamcast, PSOne/Early PSTwo and N64. The graphics don't cut in 2004. The gamecube can handle many identical models at better quality than this (Pikmin 1 and 2 and that playable technical demo with the 128 Marios which shigsy played at spaceworld 2000). Its a bit of a disapointment (even moreso after seeing how awsome looking Paper Mario 2 is). What I meant about the coloured tint was like this: I'm certain the gamecube can make polygons that look better than these sprites. I'm hoping the graphics are filler and they can sort out the darned Jagges. The way the grid lines are drwan out makes it feel more like its on a chessbaord. Nothing wrong with that its just a bit strange. I was never expecting this be to be residentent evil (evil capcom gameplay mixxed with HQ renderd backrounds) as the camera is 360 (look at the shorts you see lots of the same level from differing angles) I don't really give a darn about what happens to this as by the time it gets to Europe I would have moved on with my life.

When I saw screens for FE7, I thought they were perfectly fine.
