These codes can be a little wacky at times, but they work. Oh, and you must add your own digits (I usually did 30 or 40).
Now if anybody can figure out a class modifier from these codes.........

Tevhnically they are not PAR codes as the PAR didn't exist in the NES days. Call them RAM codes or Emulator codes or something. As you found for chartacter 2 class and character are stored before hp. Play about with the values.

Whoops... I didn't mean to post those codes... they really aren't of any use. I would've hacked them for the other people too, but I didn't think it was necessary at the time...
