I beat the first one a few days ago and I have to say it was a very enjoyable experence. I have played a little of the third one and it is great also. Has anyone here played any game in this series?

Uhh... sorry, never heard of it... The first one is for the SNES and it is a strategy RPG but with mechs. you can customize all your pilots wanzers(the name of the mechs) and you level up like a normal RPG(well, the pilots do). The third one was the only one released in the US and it has more strategy elements than RPG elements. The first one will be rereleased in japan this october and will have a completely new quest alongside the old one. If you want more information, go to www.frontmission.net. I <3 Front Mission. I played the English version of the ROM, and I played the PS2 FM 3 and luved it.

Finally! Other people who have played this series! I thought I was the only one here who has played it. Your'e missing out on the first one because Gun Hazzard was considered a inferior sequal in Japan. The fourth one will be released in Japan sometime this december.

Good news. Front Mission History is going to be released in Japan. It will the Front Mission 1st remake and remakes of the 2nd and 3rd ones. I don't know the date for the Japanese release or if it will be released out of japan.

Various Relase updates:
Front Mission 1st has already been released in Japan, but Gamefaqs doesn't think it exists, so I don't know when it was relesed exactly.
Front Mission 4 will be released in Japan on december 18. Fredreck Lancaster from the first FM will be playable again, although he looks much different.
Front Mission History will be released in Japan on december 11.
And Front Mission Online has been announced, but no details other than that is known at this present time.

I played the first Front Mission on SNES; I really liked the concepts, but something erked me about the gameplay. I just lost interest in it about half-way through. I've yet to play the one on Playstation - maybe I should check that out...
