Not sure how many of you will get to play FF CC with a multiplayer party, but I am not going to get to play single player. My other half and me are racing through it and really like it.
I looked at 11 and I hate it. It looks like Ultima or Everqueer.
CC is more like gauntlet and it is really cool in a social, healthy, hanging out with real people kind of way. Its a little slow to get started and it involves a lot of discussion, manual reading, and charging SPs... so try to plunge in about 4 hours at a time.
I think if you agreed to play two days a week, that this game could last like... four months.

Why would I devote four hours to a game? My schedule doesn't work like that. "Okay, get up at 8, work out, shower, lunch at 12, four hour Gamecube marathon, be at whatever rink I'm scheduled for to go to work,....". That seems a little bit much. Not to mention my friends would laugh at me if I called them and told them that they needed to devote hours to a game to play it with me. This sounds like a niche game at best, which is sadly what the Gamecube is becoming in the console world.

playing FFCC alone is pretty boring but with multiplayer is kick-ass. I'm at the final dungeon at year 6 and got my ass wooped by the final boss's last form pretty bad.

I'd not recommend the game alone.... I prefer being in a room with three people over an online game. FF: CC is awesome when you have people to play it with. The battles are fun and the concept is just cool. =P
Course, I'm not very far in it, since I dunno when everyone can do it again...

CC is a great game, I rented it today and the first year was pretty easy going solo, but still a very good game. I can't believe IGN gave it a 7.6.

If you put a Pheonix Down in a command slot in the single player mode it will be used auomatically if you die. I am in year 2 and have beat most of the dungeons many times and have not used 1 yet. I personally love this game. It especially has awesome graphics and awesome music. Multiplayer is pretty fun, probably more fun with 3 or 4 people instead of 2. You also don't have to devote 4 hours just to play. It only takes about a half an hour to an hour to beat one of the dungeons.

I've heard Stiltzkin from FF9 is a cameo in this game is he one of those moogles lying around in that moogle mail house every dungeon has? I might have missed him.

You meet him at Tipa Port at the beginning of the game.
BTW, is there a spell-casting guide anywhere? I can't find out how to cast Hastega. Haste = Life + Cure + Cure.

I've heard Stiltzkin from FF9 is a cameo in this game is he one of those moogles lying around in that moogle mail house every dungeon has? I might have missed him. When you very first leave Tipa (or whatever you named your village) you will encounter Sol Racht. He will speak for a little and then call Stiltzkin the Moogle to come over and teach about the world, Mog, and combat. You meet him at Tipa Port at the beginning of the game. BTW, is there a spell-casting guide anywhere? I can't find out how to cast Hastega. Haste = Life + Cure + Cure. I do not believe you can make the spell Hastega in this game.

I love how it plays Mog's theme from FF6 when it's time for the moogle mail. That made my day. Not a bad game, really, although I'm pretty lucky when it comes to being able to do multiplayer.

I do not believe you can make the spell Hastega in this game. Found it. It's Life + Cure + Cure + Cure. You can't make it in single-player mode.
