Actually you can get the Barrier Sword with Nana's replacement. It's in one of the villages in chapter 7, the ones near Lenster as I recall.

The silver weaps do give 5 skill for certain. The thunder and wind sword does not give +2 magic. I'm also quite sure that the fire sword gives +5 magic, thunder +5 skill, and wind +5 speed as Nilman said.

Those extra boosts are only in Thracia 776. If the Silver Weapons give boosts, they will show up in the game.

I'm relatively certain. It's possible that I'm wrong, but I don't think so. Yes, there's one more. The Defense Sword. It gives a +7 to DEF. Yeah, +7. You get it in Chapter 4 (Silesia) by having Sylvia go to a certain village. You know wats funny? i've tried getting the defender before... but my game always freezes when silvia dances at the village... im sure other ppl have had this problem happen to them too.. is there any other way i can get the sword without having to freeze up my game?!?

Yeah, that's a common occurence. The way to get around it is to save (in-game) before you go to get it, reset, load up the saved game and try. The success rate for this is very high - does anyone have any idea why it works...?
Regarding the silvered and magical weapons: If I remember correctly from my wanderings in the ROM, they didn't have anything under the 'stat bonus' sections. Even if it was an invisible bonus, if it was a bonus at all it should have been there - and it wasn't.

It works because the game is basically "set", meaning watever happens, will happen over and over again unless you change the way you position ur ppl, or if you save/reload ur game

Er... I don't think that the 'random' number generator is what causes the problem, somehow.

Ok, I also did encounter this problem even i reloaded with save state but I found a way that will work: Before going in the village SAVE NORMALLY that mean not with save state then go to the village and it will freeze then reload your game NORMALLY that mean not with save state then just go into the village and it will work Well it worked for me anyways....
