AceNoctali, I've tried out that patch with a few different FE4 save states at different points in the game. So, I haven't done an entire playthrough with the patch, but it looks good so far.
All the dialogue's pretty much there, aside from some rare weirdness. Name's are interchanged loosely; the names they use in dialogues differ from the status screen names. Item names are looking good.
When capturing a castle, or receiving an item, the dislogue box goes something like "RECEIVED (gibberish)" and the conquer castle thing is also gibberish. Castle names and terrain though are working and within the box.
Long names like "Cross Knights" flow out of the box and stick on part of the background. For example, Cross Knights, the ghts part overflows and gets stuck as part of the background until you battle or change the screen in some way.
Pre-battle "statistics" aren't done, but most people know what these are anyways.
All stat names are working and fit well, and names appear perfectly on the level up screen. Some status screen gibberish occurs in the area with leadership, lover, etc., in the Status area, and ArenaLV flows out of the box a bit, but important things like Talk and Lover work perfectly. The weapon grades screen as well works perfectly.
Class names are all box fitting, and names are for the most part. On the Units screen (where it lists all your units), names like Lachesis are too long (the font size isn't reduced from the status screen size).
And lastly, weapon stats look good as well.
Overall, it's definitely playable, and the dialogue is good as well. I like the patch, I really do. The only thing that's somewhat annoying is having Sigurd in the status screen, but Sir Siglud in dialogue. But still, it's a nice patch. Thanks a lot, AceNoctali!
EDIT: I haven't had a save state handy to test lover talks and replacement talks. So, I don't know how those'll go, since I know they're often problematic.
And phooi. I've gotten involved in another playthrough of it. *Sigh* Didn't mean to, but here's some other stuff for that patch.
In towns, everything's (except the repair shop) "buy/sell" option are screwy. The Fortune Teller is complete gibberish. The Arena screws up after you pick "yes" to a fight, and everything except weapon hit and type (I think) are in Japanese... but it's easy to figure out. Oh yeah, the stats for what enemy you're facing work though, so that's good.
Castle options are gibberish, and the Promotion text is also mangled.
In the intermission from the Prologue to Chapter 1, the description of Verdane (when it turns green/turquoise) is not working.Non-forced battle quotes are gibberish. This means all boss intro and dying texts don't work, and character dying text doesn't work. A non-forced battle is like the Gondolf VS Mideel battle... the outcome is predetermined and it ALWAYS happens at the end of turn 1 in the Prologue.
Castle names when they are introduced at the beginning of a chapter are mangled, but as soon as you start playing they fix themselves.
Non-ally "Lovers" (where is says what castle they serve) doesn't work. Ally Lovers and Talk areas work fine though. And so far all ally Talks are working.
I'll make a new post of anything new after each chapter, and bold any STORY dialogue that doesn't work... Sorry for the longness.
