Even though Oujay has better growth, by the time you get him, Dieck is so much more powerful. I never feel like ditching him just to start from a low level character. If not, just do what I do, use the one the RNG likes.

Oujay is pretty much better than Dieck because he gets two advantages.
1: He's at a lower level, this may seem like a bad thing, but Oujay does fine after a few level ups (Like Wendy), so it's worth the effort to level him up.
2: Oujay's only bad at his skill, which isn't too bad actually. Oujay has better growth that Dieck most definitely. But it's all about RNG mostly.
Personally, I use Oujay because he's a dodging machine, but he's a little harder to level up. Still, he kicks rear very very well. Dieck is just okay at best.

Just be warned about Oujay: if he DOES get hit..... ugh. His defense isn't very good.

That's before class change. He will get a big boost in defense after, not to mention he will get high hp. Like most characters, he starts out weak but gets stronger later on.
