A route Gonzales get a 10/10 because he starts a level 5 with high stats. B route gets a 7 or 8.

Gonzales gets a 8 on Hard route and 7 on Normal route....
He gets a bonus for being an enemy unit on hard route but that still doesn't help his abysmal skill and res growth.
Geese still surpasses Gonzales all-round, otherwise Gonzales gets some awesome strength, build and speed.

Gonzales would be awesome if he can actually hit his targets. His biggest down fall is his skill. His other stats are pretty good. Just make sure you save a few books to boost his skill.

For some reason, I have no problem hitting enemies with Gonzales despite his low skill and accruacy... maybe I'm lucky. Anyway, I had used Gonzales in hopes to finally see a brigand critical(never happened, so resorted to hacking Hector in FE7), but then I found out how easily he gains(and maxes out) strength, making him able to wipe the floor with the axes he came with (Plus Geese's brave axe). Gonzales is great, and his only real drawback would be skill(no crits  ), res, and the fact that he needs a hero's crest to promote(What I had to go through in Chapter 16...) |

Brigand criticals are cool as shit! If you want to see one, go to chapter 5, and just fight the boss with a weak character. The boss uses a Killer Axe.
