Is the translation patch for this game used the same way th eones for the SNES games are used, because I renamed the IPS file to match the name of my rom and it doesn't work

Are you using VirtuaNES? If you are, then there's an "auto IPS patch" tool you can use. It's in your "tools" tab at the top.
If you're using Nesticle,... then get VirtuaNES! Latest version is .91

Possible. I haven't had to patch a game in a long time, so I could be wrong.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, as well as double post, but I figured this out.
First off, get VirtuaNES; it's the best emulator out there.
Second, after you extract the emulator, you will see some folders. See the one called "ips"? Put patches there. For sure accuracy, make sure that the names match like I said before (I'm not sure if this is 100% necessary for NES, but why cause yourself more bullshit?).
I tried it with a Twinbee game, and it worked perfectly.

and the Ragnarok glitch is the only one I really need to watch for right?

It runs fine on FCE Ultra. That's the emulator I use. Regarding NESticle: Yeah, it is pathetic now. I remember the day when it was the most popular emulator among NES fans. LOL!  |
