Unfortunately, the characterization in the old Fire Emblem games leave much to desire. I don't remember the reason but it's nothing exciting or anything.

It was something like he was looking for his girlfriend anne (or was it anna). I'm not too sure to be honest.
Interestingly Anne (or was it anna) is the name of the woman who appears on the intermission screen.
I remember Jake making a camo appearance in Fe4 (he was lost)

... Doesn't those two appear in FE7 as well? Are they the Cids of Fire Emblem? Or does this mean that every game is linked, happens in the same world, and at nearly the same time?
