Just because the directory is called fe6 doesn't make it sowrd of seals. That site was set up in the year 2000 and as such the directories are only Chronological.
I can't belive no-ones mentioned the name of this title Tear ring saga. Its not hard to remember. As for how it plays well the easiest way to say it is some of the best ideas from every fire emblem are in it. The level designs are not truely impressive but its still fun to play though watching your psarties character level up and earn skills.
And all the classic fe Familiars are there (From the high critical Wind magic of Wondergust to the triangle attack). A good game to remember Fire emblem games of the old by (these days most of the more funner exclusive weapons are mere memories).

I highly doubt that is Fire Emblem because isn't Intelligent Systems a subsidary of Nintendo? www.n-philes.com/php/epzffyufaaafalzfkl.phpThis site explains the history of the series. It talks about how Nintendo divided up into four research and development teams, one of which is responsible for Fire Emblem.

I highly doubt that is Fire Emblem because isn't Intelligent Systems a subsidary of Nintendo? You're correct... Tear Ring Saga (I think it was formerly called "Emblem Saga") was thought-up by Fire Emblem's original creator (TRAITOR!! How dare you go to Sony. -_-). Intelligent Systems is an affiliate company of Nintendo, so unless they became un-affiliated, they couldn't make games for any other company besides Nintendo. So for those who still didn't quite get the answer to the question, Tear Ring Saga (the game for Playstation) does NOT = Fire Emblem.

Ok so just because it isn't on a Nintendo console and doesn't have the name Fire Emblem on it means its no at all like Fire Emblem.
Its storyline and characters definetly say otherwise! At one point in devolopment (the bit Nintendo said we will be seeing you in court) it was to feature old fire emblem characters and was called emblem saga.
The series producer is only behind the storyline. The gameplay does echo Fire Emblem but the Growth rates seem too low and the level design isn't Nintendo quality (the difficulties are all over the place).
It depends on what you define as being fire emblem. So in conclusion the case can be argued both ways.

Well, for whatever reasons, the Play Station versions don't have the rights to the Fire Emblem name, so in that sense, the Tear Ring Saga is not Fire Emblem.
However, I guess Star Wolf makes some good points. It is Fire Emblem in the sense that the original creator is behind it.
I guess it's ultimately up to the gamer whether the Tear Ring Saga or the contemporary Fire Emblem saga is more true to the name Fire Emblem.

Shouzo Kaga didn't go to Sony - he went to Enterbrain. The ones who brought out Tear Ring Saga. But releasing an FE-copy for a Nintendo system wouldn't have been smart anyway. The rights to FE are Nintendo and IS', even though he left. So of course a real FE isn't gonna come out for a PS2 or anything non-Nintendo.
It doesn't carry the NAME FE, obviously, but a lot of fans treat it like an FE, because Kaga still has loyal fans. And in a lot of ways it feels like one. =P

I checked Game FAQs and only found one game bearing the title Tear Ring Saga. Is there only one? Did Enterbrain discontinue the seires?
