Hey people. I thought this would be cool, seeing is how i can't code or do anything short of point and click, maybe someone else could try this...
How 'bout creating a level editor for FE4? Kind of like that Hyrule magic thing. If you look carefully on the maps, it looks like the tiles are sort of "painted" on there. It doesn't look to hard to get the tilesets and stuff. However, this program would have to be point and click, like paint. And you could insert enemies, events, stuff...it'd be like creating your own game! If you know anybody who can, ask them to try. Any input would be appreciated! I'm currently trying to find someone who could do this so if you have any other ideas, post and i'll see what i can do!

Sound great... but it takes a hard time to do it. I know a programe named "RPG maker". So if u have spare time, find it and do one.

That's what i thought. It had crossed my mind before, but i wouldn't be sure about how to add things. RPG Maker is something I'm not unfamiliar with, but I'm hardly familiar either! I don't think I'd have the skill or knowledge to manipulate Fire Emblem 4 Just think, you could have a Yotsmungand Mage... I think. Nah, I'm not sure... I hope someone can...

Just a quick thing. Why are you using a thing will will creaste an exe pasckage to edit a SNES rom, just a quick question.
Do you have ANY idea how hard editors are to program. Its not just click a finger you know. Hyrule Magic is a unuseable piece a glitch so far. Its been like that for a year now. A better example would be lunar magic.
Messing round with a hex editor I was able to change Sigurds face but it didn't edit his convo face (that would involve changing every convo). Also I somehow ended up with 3 (yes 3) Sigurds.
Fe4 is very inflexable to editing. fe5 is more suited to it still try and see. As for finding level data use a corruptor on parts of the rom and find the level section and... experiment.

Actually, I was trying to figure out how to make a level editor...
Take a long time, though, and it depends whether or not the levels can be located in the SMC. I've _tried_ to find them, but Notepad et al don't like saving it, and always save it larger than it was originally (thus corrupting the file).
I put Debian on my computer, but I can't get XWindows working yet, so I haven't been able to try with that.
And do you realise HOW MANY TILES THERE ARE? It will take days to to rip the tiles for one of the sets, let alone all of them.
I still can't find a tileset cheat, anyway... I can find a level cheat which changes the tileset, but that's not what I want.
I can change the tiles using PAR codes. Probably if I can't get to be able to alter the actual file, I might be able to make something to create a .CHT file for ZSNES. But not everyone uses ZSNES.
Oh, and the scripted events could cause problems (ie: putting mountains where people are supposed to walk...)
[EDIT] Oh, and I seriously doubt that you could edit FE4 with an RPG maker. The odds against them having exactly the same structure are astronomical

I've got a program that lets you dink around with your characters' stats and classes! i've got Adan as a Baron. The program's located @ www.zophar.net Just click on cheating utilities.

There is no one man/woman enough to take this on... it is almost a death wish

As far as I can tell, the maps either aren't coded rawly into the ROM (ie: uncompressed) or they don't use the same numbers as they are in the... alterations. Or maybe they're just not in the same order. So no way I can see of altering the maps out-of-game

There is no way you can even create a Fire Emblem like game on RPG Maker 2000. Unless you all have found a way to. FE4 is the best!!!! (Even though it dosn't have Marth or Roy. )

Sigma Fantasy used a Strategy/RPG maker. Maybe that could be used.
