I'm gonna disagree on that. Yes Silver Spear is an excellent weapon but the Hero Spear seems almost specifically designed for the Duke Knight class. The Silver Spear does not go well with Fin's weakness but his Hero Spear does. Since the Silver Spear is heavier, Fin can't always pull off 2 attacks against faster enemies. The Hero Spear is lighter, but the beauty of the Hero Weapons is that it can attack twice no matter what. It might be weaker than Silver Spear but if you compare 2 hits with a Silver spear and 4 hit with a Hero Spears then the Hero Spear is the better weapon. But like I keep saying, the Hero Spear helps even out Fin's weakness and the Silver Spear doesn't.

The fact FEMINA was better than him in every stat except strength goes to show this

even with a speed ring he's only got 20 speed at almost maxed level... thats pretty bad.
I gave him the silver spear,knight killer and javelin cause femina was a lot more useful with the hero spear.

with better statistic except for skill than Finn in my game.

I found Finn (2nd gen) useful only in the first few chapters . . . then he becomes obselete . . . but that might be because I find a way to circulate the Elite Ring around my entire army for the arena for every chapter.

And Ares? He's good, but not that good . . . Lakche easily beats out virtually anyone, excluding Sety and Skasaha. And Leif, of course. I'm probably forgetting some people here.

lakche, if she isnt the daughter of claud, even then maybe, is one of the best characters in the game

as for Oifaye, i LIKE him, in my games he always gest stats that arent much lower than Ares and with his weak baldo (so able to use A swords) and critical he's good enough to be a good fighter.

Finn is good in the first generation because he has characters with simular stat growth. And the bonus he gets with Cuan(I also give him so meof those stats up in Agustria's villages since he the only person you play latter in the game). By second gen, I think the first gen's children are better than him except for Leen is better than Fin. Oifaye, Johan, Johalva, and Ares have holy blood bonuses. Which help them in defense, Hp, attack, mg defense, whatever.

Even with Lakche as Lex's daughter, Ares still beat her out in terms of usefulness. Maybe its because of the range...

Oifaye was great until Chapter 10 when he ended up only somewhat above average. He does beat out Yohan/Yohalvier, but in my experience Ares beats him just about everywhere.

As for Finn, he wasn't exactly terrible. I got him nearly maxed out before he left my party in the first generation and he got to his stat caps I think (only one or two stats that didn't reach it.) My Johalvier couldn't beat Finn even with the slight amount of Neir blood; all that Johalvier beat Finn in was basically HP, Finn had just about everything else over him

You might find this interesting but the Duke Knight is nothing more than a Spear using Lord Knight... with higher strength and defence.

I also agree that around chapter 10, Oifaye becomes only decent. Even if he's still decent, he's good enough to be useful. I don't know why people think Ares suck though. I mean sure he's not the best either, but he can easily whole his own without the Mistolin.

I thought Duke Knight maxed out strength at about 22? Luck. Luck is good. Finn gives good Luck.

In regard to the range thing . . . I often give the Movement Ring to Lakche, once Celice promotes. I usually have them as lovers, and they critical together more often then I have ever seen with anyone else. Before that, Arthur has the ring. 'Cause he's slow.

And Oifaye . . . I never change his weapons. Ever. I have no reason to. Because of his Berserk skill, I let him keep his Zantetsu no Ken all the way to the end. I find him moderately useful up until the epilogue.

And Killershiva . . . of course I'm biased. But that doesn't beat out the fact that she's riduculously powerful.

I think KS's the only one in the fandom to say that Lakche is useless. And when I say fandom, it includes the entire Japanese fanbase. ^^;;;
