I just had Lyn talk to Karel and she says he's a Sacaen... really!? I know Guy is definitely from Sacae but I can't seem to put Karel or Karla as Sacaens. For one thing they don't dress like Guy. They don't speak nomad talk "a thousand death to our enemies." I haven't seen any of Karla's talks yet besides the ones with her brother. Does that mean all swordfighters are from Sacae? Rutger's a Sacaen too!?

I believe so. I think their style of fighting is considered 'eastern' - to that game that means Sacae. It's just that those like Fir and Karel roam so much you forget where they're from. =P

Of all things I've heard, Karel being Sacaen is one of the things I find hard to beleive.

Strange... I thought he was one the first time I saw him...

Not all swordfighters are Sacaen, but the myrmidon style is from Sacae, as far as I understand. Nomads and nomadic rangers are all Sacaean, from what I can tell. Personally, I can kinda picture Karel as one, except most seem to have green hair and most dress like Rath. Go figure. "The feast is about to begin" sounds Sacae to me...

Karla and Karel are Sacaenians by blood. They're raised somewhere else (a remote island somewhere), hence the difference in fashion and dialogue. For sources, see some convos with Karla...I forgot with whom.

Ah the would explain it then. But does that mean Rutger is from Sacae? He sure as hell doesn't seem like one.

Rutger I think might be an exception, because quite frankly Karel and Karla as Sacaen might make more sense considering they are drifters. But Rutger is a swordfighter of Laus and besides they changed the Swordfighter portrait since. The FE6 one looked more like a Western one while FE7 swordfighters look more like a Sacaen....and thirdly....maybe there was a reason for changing the name from Mymridon?

Very strange indeed. So the people of Sacae are either men of few words or Guy. Rutger, Shin, Rath, and Karel all have this whole look to them that just says stay away from me.

*cheats, and looks at pknight.com* Holy crap, Rutger has support with Dayan. Dayan, uh, comments on him being from Sacaem, and Rutger and Karel's A talks about it too. (There's your proof that those two are from Sacae, at least. Dayan is obvious. =P)#nosmileys
