In the prep screens, I checked my funds ranking and it's at full. I sold a blue gem at the prep screens, and the next time I checked my funds ranking drops. o-o;; What did I do wrong?

I dunno if the gems should even be affecting that - selling is the ONLY thing they're good for. But maybe they do... I think funds may be counted as both money and items, but now I'm not so sure. =P

You must have had less than 5000G more than the Funds requirement. The BUY value of each item is added to your funds and that's how your Funds rank is determined. Hence why you would want to use Iron weapons (cost little per use and are durable) and Catapaults (save ammo) as much as possible, and it's not a bad idea to use axes when you DON'T need the tactical edge anyway, since they do plenty of damage and cost less per use than other weapon types.

Well generally I try stick with Steel Swords and Iron Lances when I can and conserve my Silver Weapons, Kill weapons and other stuff like hell.

I had hundreds of thousands of gold and a huge stock of weapons...and I got a low funds ranking. And suddenly, near the end, my exp score took a nosedive to two. I think it went up one after the shopping chapter (huh?) and after I went to the big battle with Limstilla as the boss I killed every enemy and my EXP score dropped to one!

I think its more to do with distribution of your EXP and how well you do it then how much you gain maybe...

so, did anyone get an S ranking overall ,i mean five stars for each field until the end of the game, and if someone did, does he know how he did it?  ? |

ok, nice effort, but here are some mods for u (all for eliwoods normal route):
1- i got a 5 star tactics for 300+ turns.
2- exp obviously has something to do with the number of enemies u kill, so in the final chapter i think u have to kill those trapped enemies (too frustrating.. eh? ) to get the five stars for that level
3- where can i get a chapter by chapter 5star rating requirements?!!!
