I'd like to see a scan of the preview too. I got a scanner... but no FFTA...

Saying TO is a rip off is a bit unfair. Fire Emblem did set the standards for SRPGs. Shining Force was a blunt rip off.

I dunno. I haven't played any of the other games mentioned besides FE (okay, I played a LITTLE bit of SF... but it was only to see what it was like).
I was just kidding when I said FFT was a ripoff of FE... so don't blame me!

I didn't mean it in a bad way, since TO is one of my favorite games. Its just that if FE didn't exist TO probably wouldnt either. That is where I got my reasoning behing TO being a rip off. That, and my inability to think of a better word that fits.

It's true enough. I mean think about it. The world would probably be very different in Nintendo never made Fire Emblem. I mean sure, maybe someone else will think up the strategy RPG genre, but will it have the same impact? Will there still be OB, TO, FFT etc.

Probably not. If FE wasn't the progenitor of the SRPG, at the very least, it must have popularized it.

Well at first SRT wasn't a blatant rip off FE since they came out around the same time but as the games came out SRT leaned more towards ripping off FE until it was almost the same game except FE better.

The Koei Legend Series follows Fire Emblem's gameplay very closely. That's not really a bad thing though since I love FE. I also love Legend Of Cao Cao cause it plays a lot like FE.
