FF tactics has a little preview booklet with screens of the English translation. The preview is four pages long.
Lyn note the spelling is back to a lord and not a noble.
Lance Killer is translated as Lance Reaver
Armor Killer is translated as Armor Slayer
Lyn's sig weapon is translated as the Mani Katti.
Wallace, Kent, Will, Sain, and Lyn's spelling are quasi-official now.

Well, I guess it's good that Lin is a Lord and not a Noble...
As for the Lance and Armor Killers... even though the name isn't proper, I still like the English ones! Lance Reaver and Armor Slayer sound so cool ^_^
Thanks for the info Tigana... I dunno why it'd be in a FFT booklet though... cuz they're both strategy RPG maybe?

I do the like the offical names for the weapons. The preview booklet spotlighted about seven games. FF tactics, Legend Of Mana, Zelda, Advance Wars 2, Mario and Luigi, and Fire Emblem, and Golden Sun: The Lost Age. Thing is Fire Emblem got top billing, it got four pages while the others got two, and it was the first game spotlighted. |

Well, of all those, FE DESERVES the most spotlighting! I mean, it was the first strat. - RPG afterall...
FFT was just a ripoff of FE (j/k ^_^)

FFT was just a ripoff of FE (j/k ^_^) Wrong. FFT was a rip off of Tactics Ogre which was a rip off of FE. Tactics Ogre isnt a complete rip off of FE(coughshingforcecough) though |

So... what you're saying is FFT was ripped off of TO which was ripped off of FE in that also SF also was a rip off of FE?
Man... that's confuzing. Ah well... the only one out of all those I've played is FE, so I'm not concerned anyway ^_^

I assume the preview booklet is going to be in more games then FFTactics. Sword of Mana is indeed the game previewed, and not legend of mana |

SWEET! Guys, this is EXACTLY the kind of spotlighting FE needs. Think about it-FFTA is an EXTREMELY high-profile game, it's gotten lots of attention and stuff, and if FE is being given such a big spot in the lil preview booklet, this'll get lotsa SRPGers, who should be, of course, this game's target audience, interested in FE!!!!!  |

For once, Nintendo might have done something RIGHT with marketing this game.
Btw, can anyone scan in their preview booklet so I can see the pics? I would get FFT:A myself, but I'm a tad tight on cash... ^_^;;;;;

Tactics Ogre isnt a complete rip off of Fire Emblem because it's differnt enough in gameplay that it looks like they got inspiraton from FE. Shining Force is an obvious rip off of FE, though.
