The difference between Hawkeye and Dart is so miniscule that it's not even worth fighting over. It's a matter of preference, and in that case, I prefer Dart, because he supports with a lot of my other regular characters (like Rebecca).
Gonzales is still the best bet for a Berzerker from the two games.

Dart has more speed, Dart can ignore all the rest of his faults simply because he does have that huge speed advantage. His luck and skill suck, this is true.
He will not connect very much, but that is his only downfall.
He will survive longer against bigger numbers even with worse defense and resistance, because they will not hit him even close to the amount that they hit Hawkeye.
And he'll get more hits in due to the extra speed, and harder hits as well. That's why Dart's the best axe user, bar only Hector, in the game.

Chapter 10A easy and hard mode Gonzales is the best Berserker IMO. Geese is good(and on par with most of the best characters), but I prefer high speed and power. Gonzales has enough level ups and a class change bonus to fixed his low skill IMO.

I really should get around to using Gonzales, but I put him on the bench as soon as I saw his face. Gives me the shivers.
