is its name supposed to be a combination of the two french words "rien" (none, nothing) and "fleche" (arrow), thus meaning "no-arrow"?

Well, I doubt it as there is in fact an arrow when you shoot it... but a good question. Like how many of the weapons got their names from other languages/mythology.

Here's some other origins.
Gepesent - It means Ghost in German, I think Nosferatu - Japanese for "Dracula"

no, I eant sol in spanish means sun. I think thats what they were referring to.
also that gives me the feeling that in some language mani means moon (explaining why english is the only language in whcih moon doesn't sound like lunar)

Ah, the Rienfletche...
I still say that it's _really_ called the Lion Fletch.
This matches the sword and spear, in any case (Regal, Rex, and Lion are all 'royal' terms).
Regarding the Mani and Sol Kattis: I believe the consensus, when we didn't have the english names, was that they were called Many and Soul Cutter. That moon idea has never occured to me before... but moon would more likely be Lune Katti, or something to that effect, I would believe.
People actually _prefer_ the name Nosferatu to Rizziah?
/me Dark Twilkitri is in shock

The Durandal has its roots somewhere in Charlemagne's time.

Yes, the Durandal was used by (surprise, surprise) the hero Roland. He was Charlemagne's nephew, apparently.
