Well the reasons everyone hates Necrid.... I don't hate Necrid. I hate Seung Mina, Cassandra (So very original, Sister (a spawn, rather...) of Sophitia), and Yunsung (Hwang Sung Kyung maybe cool, but...Yunsung?). The fact that he's not in the arcade version doesn't mean anything, except the fact that people can't use him in Arcade tournament. Blah, Link, Heihachi and Spawn aren't in the Arcade either. The reason why they put Charade and Necrid in home version is because... it adds to one of the perks of owning a home version SCII. More characters to choose from. Maybe he looks ugly to some people, but it is just a matter of personal preference. If a fighting game consists of only cool looking guys and gals, it is pretty queerish. A lot of the other characters' exhibitions suck. In fact, there are only a few which don't suck. Seung Mina's is the same as Kilik's, Mistsurugi's and Yoshimitsu's are also the same. A little exhibition doesn't make a character. Is he REALLY that good? No. True that he has some of the best moves from other characters, but his weapons SUCK. Namco does it for a reason: balancing. Giving him some nice moves, and at the same time give him crappy weapons. Why complain about his moves being overpowered THEN complain about his RUBBISH weapons? He might seem to be strong comparing to several other characters, but in no way is he the strongest. |

Well, he's so unoriginal as well. I mean, green skin, indecipherable growling, big chest jewel, and really stupid spikes. Not only that, but if you button mash, you've won.

I agree that Necrid's original "costume" is pretty dumb... that's why I always pick the second one so the ugly bastard wears a mask!
And Kanzakii... why do you hate Seung Mina? Sure, she's a bit like Kilik... but she uses a halberd (or halberd type weapon)! This is a bit irrelivant, but halberd users were some of the best in Dynasty Warriors! And Yunsung...?
Well, maybe I'm new to SCII, but I'm also pretty good with fighting games... so, yeah.

Unoriginality just screams Cassandra. I hope Namco would develop a personality for her in the future, or else... Necrid isn't a bad design, at least he looks demonic, and he doesn't resemble of another character when I look at him. Button mash will definity not go far, just Guard Impact or Auto-Counter it. Yes, Seung Mina uses polearm...but then, she uses it with Ling Sheng Su style Rod (majority of the time). Yunsung is not original as well, Hwang from SC is better than him. I don't get Namco, why dump the old characters if they are just to replace them with a clone? They should develop more on the old ones. |

Kilik is heaps better than Mina. I still like her though. She's one of the better chicks. Sophitia....*Shudders* Words cannot describe my hatred. Talim's easy to use but she annoys me to no end. Xianghua's voice irritates me. Hate hate HATE.
Kilk, Maxi and Yun are definately my best and favourites. What does everyone have against Yunsung, and I'm not just talking about people here. Pretty much everyone on every board I'm on hates him. Why? He's heaps mad! I can't really compare him to Hwang coz I've never played the orginal Soul Blade or Soul Calibur. I wish people would stop being so down on him though. I mean, so what if he doesn't scream originality, he's still a pretty cool character.
Anyways...
I really hate Necrid aswell. Stupid swamp monkey. All his moves are belong to other character's don't they? I can't use him at all. I think I've only won with him on the ice level but I do jack on that level. I just wait for my opponent to do something stupid and run off the edge.
I do button mash, however I do know most of Kilik's moves. I think the only person I button mash with is Maxi. The guy is a machine! Press one button and he's off into some really long combo, lol.
Well, yeah. I think thats enough for now...

Just listening to those make me want to beat the crap out of him, and I did. Actually, the FIRST time I play my SCII, the FIRST character I've tried was Yunsung. I didn't hate him that much back then, and I did pretty well with him. But as I've gotten more into the game, the more I hate him.
Not ALL of Necrid's moves belong to someone else. And so what if he gets a move or two from each character? Taking one move from him, another from her, and then he comes up with a "my-style," because you get to mix different characters' moves together. It is different from Seung Mina using like EVERY move which Kilik has.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Necrid lover, I don't actually use him that much. Well, I did practice a bit so that I got through his Acrade within 2 minutes, but I don't really use him in VS battle. I usually use Ivy, Astaroth, Heihachi, Yoshimitsu, Cervantes, and Nightmare.

Well, it's Seung Mina who came before Kilik, so technically Kilik is the clone...nevertheless, I like them both.

Yes, I know that, just like Li Long used to be cool before Maxi appears. But Li Long and Maxi don't appear in the same game.
The basic rule is, if someone appears and steals the show, the other character should just retires.
Long and Maxi, Hwang and Yunsung, they don't appear in the same game. But Kilik and Sueng Mina...Namco should know realize that when they released Soul Calibur.
