[glow=green,2,300]Metriod was one of the 1st games I ever played (I beat it at the age of 3 amazingly) but this is a game that didnt make the world change but revolutioned many ideas into how a game should be made......the game never was successful in Japan (who knows why) but it definatly had an impact on how a game was made for its time.[/glow]

I was never really too keen on the first one... but I loved Super Metroid =D
I love the grapple beam on there... hanging upward in the air is fun!

Yes, Metroid is a great series, not just for Nintendo but for all videogames. Personally Metroid 2 :Return of Samus was my favorite of the two 8bit games. Super Metroid is the best Super Nintendo game ever created and Metroid Prime was a truly amazing game, definatly one of my top 10 game choices.
Im sure the Metroid Prime sequal will do good, but it probably wont live up to the original Metroid Prime. Im sure the movie will suck too.

I love the Metroid series. It's one of those rare series of games where every game is awesome. And Metroid Prime is the second best game I have ever played.
Yeah, no VG based movie has ever been good. The pristine quality of Metroid would be ruined with a movie, unless it was done REALLY well, which I'd doubt.

Metroid Prime 2....I wish it could be in 3rd person. I've heard that the system is going to be the same as the first one but just with more of the Morph Ball stuff.
Yea the movie was cancelled a long while ago. I never thought it'll do well anyway. I agree, movies based off games arn't all that great. The Resident Evil movie would've been great if it followed the game just a bit more. Way too much technology and action in that one. If it was supposed to be an action movie...then i think they should atleast let that S.T.A.R.S. captiain who got sliced to ground meat live a bit longer.
Anyway, I am dying to hear the Super Metroid Brinstar(green area) theme back again. Hope they remix it for Metroid Prime 2. Metroid Prime had the most radical Ridley fight ever. I'm eager to see wut Ridley is gonna look like in Prime 2.

Only played much of the original Metroid, to be perfectly honest. I never found myself a copy of Super Metroid, I hate playing action games with a keyboard (so emulation is out), and I don't have a Cube, because my love of DDR and Dynasty Warriors beat out my desire to play the usual Nintendo franchises. (GC needs DDR. GC needs DDR bad.)
I'm surprised nobody's brought up the old Justin Bailey code yet, heh.

Ridley is by far the best Metroid boss...or really, the best VG boss ANYWHERE. I loved MP's Ridley, the battle and animation was just...so fluid and fast-paced. Eat your heart out, PS2! *cackles*
Heehee, I have a Metroid t-shirt. I got it from Hot Topic...
And on the topic of Justin Bailey, somebody made a hack for Super Metroid roms that allows you to play as a Justin Bailey Samus. The sprite was handmade, so it's a little funny looking (Samus has a big butt...), but it's interesting nevertheless. Too bad Metroid Prime doesn't have a JB Samus. I've always loved the Woman Beneath the Suit...she's my hero. ^_^

Man I've always sucked at Metroid. I sucked immensely at the first and second Metroid games but did pretty good in Super Metroid. I look forward to MP2 but I was actually hoping to see Retro Studios make some other games first before they go back for a sequal.

And yes... like Iris, I'm posting right now in a Metroid shirt that I found at Hot Topic as well =D
I dunno why everybody liked Metroid Prime so much... I mean, the idea was good... but it just didn't live up to the old ones if you ask me. They should make the next one with an option for 1st AND 3rd person views... so they can include stuff from the older Metroid games like the ACTUAL Space Jump and the Screw Attack >=D
Yeah... almost all movies made from games are terrible (shivvers at the thought of the Super Mario Bros. movie) =( However, if the movie had a decent plot and they made it look like the Metroid Prime/Fusion commercials, I think it would've been awesome =D I mean... it's a better idea than turning Crazy Taxi into a movie... it's hardly a game as it is IMO... how could they possibly turn it into a movie!?
And once again... my favorite is still Super Metroid =D

I'm actually trying to start a whole wardrobe of Nintendo shirts...
Thus far, I got my Metroid shirt, a similar Duck Hunt one, a small Mario + mushroom = Super Mario, and a green 1-up shirt (which I'm wearing right now =D It's my favorite one)
No, I'm not a geek... well, maybe just a little bit. What can I say... as far as I know, I live for video games =D
And to think somebody once told me I'd grow out of them... pah! >=\

Aside from my Metroid shirt, I have...um...my 8-Bit Theater shirt, if that counts.
I saw some guy wandering around campus in a Dynasty Warriors 4 shirt. And I regret not stopping him and asking where the hell he found it.
