First of all, does Fir have to be the one who enters the house (it is a house right?) in order to get Karel.
And what are his starting stats when you get him?

con 9
once you level him up, he will gain 2~3 hp, and 1~2 in every other stats...

His speed is that low? Hm, I was thinking of using him. I'll have to buy more stat-enhancers if iI go use him then.
490 000 some odd gold helps with that...

Age caught up to him and wrong my level 17 Fil has higher stats than him except on attack he has 20 while Fil has 19  . Besides even you don't really need much Stat boosting items on him except on maybe 2-4 of each stat boosting items will probably help him max things out. BTW how come you have so much gold *Senses some unbalance*..... |

anything higher than 20 spd doesn't exist on the last two chapters(maybe Brunya, I can't remember). Anyway, his high con, luck, and defense make up for that.

^To Leknaat: Ahem Arena abuse comes to mind. In FE6 it's possible to make any character good if you have the cash. The arenas are pretty generous and you can use them limitless times of course.

All my main characters are at 20/20 right now.

What!?karel sucks >_<.....any swordmaster in fe6 owns damnit.....i used all three and with a good old wyrm slayer(rutuger had one too fir had durandel)they just slaughterd the dragons.btw...wat exactly does con do?i always found it a worthless stat.

Con is the character's build. If the weapon weight of the equipped weapon is higher than the character's con, then the character's attack speed will be lowered by the difference between the weapon weight and the unit's con.
It doesn't always have to be taken into consideration, especially with light weapons or units with high con. But against an enemy with lots of speed you definitely want to consider it. =P
Nino's con blows, but I like to get her to use Fimbulvetr and Excalibur books since she has the best Magic stat. She gets two body rings in each game. XD
