On the officvial Japanese site his name is listed Ruthea. They will have to change his promotion if they are to change his gender.
Why can I imagine then falling head over heals with the dialogues being ambiguous. I see gamefaqs topics like:
He is a woman?
You don't need swearing to make a good script I hope they make the script witty like advance wars 2s is.
I don't know if I imagine Nergal (or someone) having lines like Lash:
The way Lash mocks the characters is amusing. eg, "I wanted the bearded guy or the scarecrow". She is refering to Olaf and Grit when saying that.

Believe what? That that is the box art? IGN may pull news out of their asses but why the hell would they make up box art? Honestly I couldn't imagine what else they'd use for the US box art anyway....
I don't think they will lighten up the script all that much. I also talked to a translator - well, he's not actually a translator, more like someone who was working on FE's script. But I mean, the entire English demo was just like Japanese FE7 dialogue wise, but of course there's like 30 chapters after that. =P I guess you could say he's more of, like.. a transliterator. =P What happens to the gay desert bandits is anyone's guess, but I'm hoping they don't change it too much. I mean, if we can bring stuff like Xenosaga over and rate it Teen (some of the game is quite mature), then FE can get over some homosexual implications and a bunch of men suggesting gangbanging Florina and have an E rating. Maybe. =P

Again, why the hell would IGN make up box art? So they've had their stupid shit in the past (FFX-3...) but that's the only thing they COULD do for the box art anyway.
Well.. WTF. I remember some suggestive remarks some guys (Not Sain) made towards Florina in the chapter you meet her. Lin kinda chases them off, but... was it not the same in the import? I don't remember. :P

I am sorry if I sounded harsh in my posts. The only real qualm I have with the current title is that there is no subtitle under Fire Emblem. As i said before, people who have only played SSB:M(and those who don't look at gaming news sites) will see the title and think that Roy and Marth are in the game. When they find out that they are not in the game they will tell all their friends that Roy and Marth are not in the game and will say it is not worth playing. That was an exagerated example, but you get my point.
Now for my stance on IGN. In journalism, there is a big importance placed on getting information from reliable sources. When a journalist puts information in their article that they thought was reliable but turns out false, the newspaper or magazine then looks like an unreliable source and the journalist faces an angry editor. What I am trying to say is that if a source of information is unreliable, then that whole source is then deemed untrustworthy and loses credibility. I am more picky about sites I use for information than most, which is why I totally despise IGN. They have shown no reason for me to believe anything they say unless it is shown on another reliable sorce.
EDIT: after re-reading my post, the journalism part looks kinda stupid to me, so just ignore it. I think it's because i wrote it at 6:30 AM(central time).

More people will think Roy's in it because of Eliwood. =P I wish they'd add a subtitle too... I'll be really annoyed if they just call it Fire Emblem in the end.
Again, I understand not trusting IGN (I don't read them on a regular basis anymore :P), but box art is different from rumors. I've dealt with VG journalism for three years, so I know all about rumors and reliable sources.

But nintendo said that it will sell over a million easy. That the reason why i made the official fire emblem hype thread. I Post it on lots and lots of nintendo sites to get through to the new people to the series that roy and marth aren't the main characters, but yes that could be a down point if newbies don't play it because of roy and marth not being in it. |
