I liked that impression. The way he explained the triangles was great not going into complications like buster weapons. Reminds me very much of Nintendos own blabble only more interesting.

Well, at least he went a LITTLE more in depth than all the others... but I wish they would STOP bringing up the stupid rock, paper, scissors analogy- they make it sound like a sword will automatically beat a spear, light magic automatically beats dark magic, and so on. They should explain it as an advantage, not a "rock smashes scissors every time" idea. Meh. But that's just me.
And despite all the sayings about "a deep and intricate plot", no one has gone further than Lin trying to reclaim the throne of Lycea, and even that's not mentioned in a lot of these stupid previews! At least SOME insight into a bigger plotline would be nice... or maybe I'm just asking too much.
At least this guy actually went into the music a lot. I'm thankful for that.

I think mine from June was pretty indepth. :P
I know I did mention the rock paper scissors thing too, but I'm pretty sure I made mention that it doesn't automatically make a win or lose, that in the end it's based on a bunch of things, etc etc.
The previews I've seen, other than my own, are.. well, previews, and most of them are by people who've never touched an FE. They don't KNOW anything storywise, other than what's fed to them in Nintendo's E3 press kit, or what was in the E3 demo itself. And that's the bit about Lin. Nor do most of them know Japanese, so they couldn't have played/understood the import. Heck, did anyone even mention something as simple as Eliwood being Roy's father, or even that he exists? :P Hector?

I think I've seen Eli-chan mentioned out there SOMEWHERE, but that maybe me confusing those previews with what WE got a few months ago. =P
I don't think poor sexy Hector's got even a mention of existence, though.

^_^;;;; sorry kyuusei, I know I read your preview, I just forgot about it... and yes, you did actually say that the weapons were for advantages/disadvantages, even if you did try and related it to rock-paper-scissors...
Can you imagine the look on people's faces when they get to chapter 12 or whatever, look at Hector, and go, "What the hell? Who's that guy? No one ever mentioned HIM in the reviews..." And it's not like he's not important or anything- he has an entire Hard Mode that revolves around him (well, sorta, anyways).

There was some talk about Eliwood but definitely none on Hector. I don't remember kyuusei's preview even though I read it. I'll go read it again just for fun.

Oh, just to tickle your fancy, there's another FE impression from RPGamer.com (I guess Nintendo was holding a "Fantasy Day" of some sort- publicity for FE, who woulda thunk it?) www.rpgamer.com/event/nfantasy03/fe.htmlFunny note: He lost a character in the tutorial XD And on chapter three, too XDD (So much for being an "Advance Wars" player, ha ha)

That RPGamer preview made me cry. The fact that he lost a character in CHAPTER THREE didn't help my view the guy much either. Dude, if he thinks FE's a challenge just after that....
...I'd hate to see him play Thracia 776. :D
Whatever. Anyway, has anyone noticed just how HORRIBLY BLAND his writing style is? My preview editor would cut me in pieces and feed me to his dogs if I turned in a preview like that. Jesus Christ...
Anyway, enough about RPGamer. I think I mentioned Hector.. I'm pretty sure I did. I know I did. :P Damnit, now I'm paranoid. As for the weapons, the rock paper scissors thing IS what it's based on.. but it's very basic. Of course it'd hold true if you had weapons of the exact same attributes, being wielded by three guys with the exact same stats. But how often is that gonna happen? :P The reason most of these only go so far as to mention the rock paper scissors rule and forget to mention that it's far from absolute, again is because these guys haven't played an FE in their past to know. All they know is what's told to them in the tutorial, really. :P

I hate to alarm you but, RPG Gamer said the 3rd battle... thats the second chapter (Yes Chapter 2). It has a mercenary as a boss so by the rock paper scisors theory no problems on the boss. So how did he lose? Probably not using a spear on the boss. Or... Maybe he got killed by the wall. Don't forget that RPG Gamer had screenshots with titles like "The dragon attacks" when it was a peagasus knight. Geuss RPG Gamer has fairly low strandards.

Oh my dear lord... that's just... depressing. That person should stay as far away from that game as possible to prevent making an idiot of himself... oh wait! He already did. My bad.
::Pictures Sain hitting the crack in the wall with his spear:: ::Wall falls on him::
I can only imagine the zaniness of the questions this and every other FE board is going to recieve.

LOL! This guy lost a unit in the TUTORIAL? XD XD XD Man, I wonder if that's grounds for clinical retardation or something! Losing a unit in the 3rd chapter...that's just pathetic.
