I agree, Toge. If there's a better man for this job than Eaichu, I sure as hell don't know who it is.

I'm going with the names in the 25% patch, because that's the names that most people here use and are adjusted to. I might change a couple names here and there due to pronoucination issues, though, so there's a possibly that not ALL of the names in the 25% patch might make it into the new one.
Most people want to have names that sound good, and that they can read without thinking something among the lines of.. "this looks pretty damn odd.".
Thanks for the compliments.. although it's not really needed. I have excellent knowledge on how to do everything with the source code editor.. which means I can pretty much change everything at will without too many problems. Adding next text in.. like the translations of the status screens as I showed you above is rather hard, but it's not too hard once you get the hang of it. Anybody could probably do something like this.

Most people that I put on the parameter charts in the General Board will be in this game, retaining all of the stats, growth and skills that I put on those charts. I probably won't, as I'm at the bottom of the list. My character won't be useful for anything except cannon fodder even if he is in there.

Theres about 50 slots for bosses. Your secret project, now that was interesting. At least you uncoverd the reason why Cuan and Sigurd are promoted. So they don't have the greys out glitch. Editing the face graphics and level maps would really impress me. Was your no longer secret project the reason you wanted to nab the translation or did it come as an afterthought.
As for you Theif sword problem, check the theif sword proporties are set up properly using the fe4 editor. If its no reason you could try hacking another weapon to be a theif sword clone, then you have to find the data for which sword deus gives to lachesis.

Theres about 50 slots for bosses. My character wouldn't make a very good boss either. As a general, though, he'd be good at drawing fire and still being...ahem...reusable. That's what I did with Hannibal and Adan. Well, if I actually become a character, there's only two things I really care about. 1 is that I have a cool personality, 2 is that I don't look like like Adan or Alec or Hannibal . Don't even think about Beowulf. ;D

No. This is the problem I have with the Thief Sword. Once I translate and fix all the weapon names in the 80% source code, there's one HUGE problem with the Sword's name, the Thief Sword's name in FE4 automatically reverts to a bunch of number's and symbols. TogeKid - fe4trans.freeshell.orgLook around on there a little bit for what you want to know. You need Linux to get somewhere, though. There's alot.. of characters, I already have trouble picking who I want to be in the first generation, but now I have to take FESSers for the second generation, and there obviously isnt enough. Heheh, I'm still working on it, and there's still alot of things I'm trying to do. Also, the secret project is what I originally had in mind when I downloaded the source code. As I said somewhere in my first post, I downloaded the source code to do something that Iris would have liked me to do. ^^

Do you mean as in how the character names in the script of the 2nd gen of the 80% patch are occasionally in gibberish? I always thought that that was just because they hadn't put them in... but you've obviously put the name in, so it can't be that...

I would imagine the names being odd in the script is caused by the script being written with both the characters and their sub units in mind, and the hacker simply never got around to fixing whatever code would insert the appropriate English name.

Character names being gibberish in the second generation dialogue script are caused by shared dialogue.. like when Lakche and Sukasa have a conversation at the start of Chapter 6, Radney and Roddlevan also have the same conversation.. and it creates confusion in the overall script.
The subsitute units have all their dialogue translated in the second generation, but shared dialogue brings up a rather annoying problem.

Mandrake is evil.. I have so many problems with it. It gets the job done, but it crashes and has odd errors so often, that I dont know if I could really suggest it to anybody. ^_^;

Yah, but not everyone has broadband, meh. Besides, I'm perfectly happy with my dual Me/2000 setup... there would have to be utilities under Windows that'll let you do the hacking et al, if I was so inclined I'd go looking, but I'm not. THE CURRENT PATCHHey, I'm in the perfect place for this... Look at the page selection links. In the thread, not outside. Notice how they go up to 21, not 3? That's because this board is stupid. IN ANY CASE. I'm sure most people just skip to the bottom of this page and work upwards, not realising that there are later pages. Since this post is at the bottom of the page, I'll remove the error for you. The currect patch by Eaichu et al, in unified from provided by AceNoctali, is at www.lemondedect.lmdp.net/fr-fe4/download/patch_compile_FE4.zip
