Graphics can be enhanced, or their beauty or ugliness can only be truly judged when we can see an animation of the game. Also, most times, we can easily get over the graphics, if the game is enjoyable. I think they're okay.

However, story elements are something different.

The story is more like Tactic Ogres which is not the story I like. I can't imagine Ike getting anywhere fighting lots of different noblemen. We have yet to hear the twist when we find out one of the in controled by a dark mage (if this is right I win a handshake!)

Also we CAN critisce graphics without seeing them in motion. If you think I can't then I present to you this anology "you must see the static animation animated". Or "you can't critise art as it isn't in motion". Its just animations you cannot critisce fully.

At the moment the map graphics look pretty low-res. Inteligent Systems don't have a track record of 3D graphics but I hope they can improve what they have done so far.

As for my views on the beasts Il'l parphrase an older topic:

None of you seem to understand the essence of Fire Emblem. This game has upset the essence. It won't feel right and none of you can put a finger on it.

It is all very simple. Il'l take a minute to explain. Fire Emblem has traditionally been very based on Western Mythology/History. The Classes are all things you could expect to see in medievil times from your pantless monks to your paladins. The monsters in these Games are all western based. Look at the Dragons they are the western style of dragon (a mean, lean fighting machine). Fire Emblem Gaiden (and tear ring sagas) Gargoyales, Skeletons and Zombies are all things we can expect in Western horror stories.

Very slowly the series has started to twine Eastern influnences into it. The Sword Master and Nomads are examples of this. The whole concept of the humans with Dragon forms is taken from the Kitsune (Kitsunes are legendry foxes with human forms find out more on google, kinda like Vulpix/Nintales).

But this new Fire Emblkem has made a dramatic leap into Eastern. Pheonixes and the Neko race show this(Neko being the Japanese word for cat). Sadly though its retained most of its western classes and it doesn't feel right. Pegasus are in Greek mythology for example.

Leaving the Pegasus and Dragons in while having Foodogs (they are Chinese and are beasts) and Pheonixes is like having Samurai in the 3 musketeers. I don't want it to become absurd (in other words I don't want this to be the Star Trek: Nemesis of the Series). I'm not expecting an Ike clone to run an empire or anything daft like that its just "OK so the Ice Golem and Pegasus live together?".

If you want to be pedatic with my Eastern/Western terms replace them with Oriental/Oxidental

I'm wondering what Shouzou Kaga is thinking about this? The storyline is different from what he did.

Since the games are made in Japan I don't see what is so wrong with adding Eastern elements. After all, they worked hard to bring us 7 games; aren't they allowed to incorporate stuff from their own culture?

The only unfireemblish element about this plot(besides the evil beast people) is that the main charachter is not the lord of the kingdom which is attacked. He's helping the princess of that kingdom. I don't think this is too unfiremblish... and at least the main charachter got blue hair!

And why do you think that maps are using a low resolution? Do you think they're too zoomed in?

Some people are just going to be complaining for all eternity; they'll find any small detail to pick on, they'll attack the slightest changes, and ultimately, they'll never enjoy the game when it comes out.

In terms of how I see the story developing, I can imagine a war of a greater magnitude than any previous Fire Emblem, as it seems every nation on the continent will be getting into the action.

Lastly, I think if some people could understand the difference between 'change' and 'variation' then they'd have a far easier time enjoying this game, but that might cut in to their complaining time.

Not if they stick with the Crystania-setting....
So they will be off fighting GODS... not just their puny Kindsmen...

But fighing Gods seem a little to much for the somewhat-"realistic" FE-setting... (at least in my opinion)
